What i/we need is arms and legs EVERY weekend…………..not just occasionally but every weekend and all day, in whatever weather
Any body got a pic of the D-Day veteran Dak that came into the country earlier in the year………..based in liverpool i think
I flew in her on my birthday this year, would like a pic of her for my memories
thanks guys
thanks, would appreciate seeing them
hey guys this is a beech porn thread not a lightning porn thread
I think B-24 driver would be more familiar with the Beech AT11 Kansan which is a very close relative but a little more warlike with bomb aimer’s perspex amongst other features.
yes, you are right and they were tail draggers not tri-gear
Not sure but thought the tri-gear Beech 18’s came out in the 60’s…………thought our blue one would have been more like the type you trained in but like i said, not sure.
Thanks Andy, especially for that last one
that is a real Beech 18………….
I thought it was very interesting
not often do we get to see all the early X-1, X-1A, X-2 stuff
good IMO
Harvard Fans????????
Are there any……………..i can feel myself nodding off again.
silence……………………………………..waits for TT response
will you be gracing us with your presnce on saturday
if not, don’t worry, we will be there in the wind and snow looking after your airplane for you
almost forgotten what you look like…………oh i remember, you are the one with the, dead hedgehog on your face………..(i cleaned that up, remember what Trace called it)
It’s not even worth replying to that last post
it is a shame to keep her outside
fantastic covers, about £3000 worht so they gotta be good.
it would probably take us about 2 hours to get a wing off
we would need to undo about 50 screws on each wing, remove 2 wing bolts, aileron cables and electricals would also need to be disconnected.
not difficult but in this weather we would freeze out bits off.
philip
here is a picture of the new one taken on typical winter bruntingthorpe saturday morning.
Last Saturday at about 9:00 and minus 4 degrees C
the other pics are of our Beech G-BKRN “Out in the Cold”
I guess your Beech is a kind of memorial to the guys that flew from Dunkeswell – I guess flying her into there would be more in rememberance of the guys that flew and died operating from there than the guys that run the museum.
absolutely correct………………
It would be great if the Beech could return to Dunkeswell at some point.
Skyblue Aviation’s Beech 18, based at Exeter, is a occasional visitor to the fly-ins staged at the airfield. It would be nice to see both together.
we were asked very nicely by the chaps at the dunkeswell memorial/museum to paint/mark our Beech as one based at dunkeswell……………..we did and that was the last we ever heard from them……………..not even a thanks very much chaps.
probably won’t be taking our beech to dunkeswell
