What about a Sabre (the sharp stabby thingy) piercing an a golden apple with a shooting star (the cosmic thingy) flying overhead………….maybe on a black background
just a thought
Damien, Where Are you
About a paint scheme…PLEASE NO MORE psudeo-military schemes….there are too many 18s/C-45s/SNB’s sporting dubious markings (both in Europe and in the USA).
Since it’s a Volpar why not leave it in a early 60’s civil scheme?
It would be distinctive (retro chic perhaps..depending on the colours used) and historically accurate. The Twin Beeches of the era were the last of the high class/cabin class piston business planes before turbines took over (turboprop Gulfstream Is and early King Airs…and the early jets…Falcons, Lear 20 series, the Sabreliner and Lockheed Jet Star).
what colour scheme is yours
ours is quite well researched you know…………..i am sure some may find fault but i have to stand behind the fact that if you build it you can paint it whatever colour you like.
we are there building it in snow storms, rain, wind, 30 degree C heat, and i will paint it whatever colour takes my fancy……ok
MIA again then………..
we have a long list of MIA now
mind you, we have got the chaps from old warden coming to help us though, that will be nice
what? Your spelling?
Heresy, dear boy, heresy.
TT
picky, picky, picky
any danger of seeing you saturday???? or are you polishing someone else’s airplane again.
should i get extra milk for the guys from old warden who are coming to help you this weekend
I’ll probably incur Ben, Matt and Phil’s wrath for this, but I like the look of the Volpar conversion!
Anybody know the story behind it?
pure herecy
She is actually not our Beech, she belongs to a chap named PT Barnum. He hopes to base her and use her with our beech for about 3 years before taking her to Australia.
I think he wants some sort of boring paint scheme but we shall change his mind for him.
to be honest, i didn’t take a lot of notice of the wingtips yesterday, i think they are round tips now but square tips in the picture link i posted earlier.
they look horrible with those square tips, we had some for our beech but got rid, they just don’t look right.
have you been to brunters to see our beech
philip
small piece of history here
oops

and a picture here
sorry about the huge link
lots of Beech 18’s on this site………..in fact lots of everything
Thanks for the offer mate, but should be ok for storage
still hope to fly her early next year
time will tell
It is not just that nose wheel that would need chopping out, the main legs are moved backwards in the bays…………..a serious modification to the whole spar.
i don’t think they look right either……………..not rare though, but yes rare over here.
yours truly just visible, no not the one in the skirt, my legs under the nose
she needs a bit of work mate…………..guess who is gonna put in a quote.
now i can get some stick time on a beech that actually works
BTW nothing moving on the Rub……we are gonna take the wings off and put her back under our car port hanger
seriously, the wings are gonna come off…………can’t work on her out on the field……since we were turfed out of “that building” we have been kinda screwed.
Our Thanks go to all involved in that one.
nice, well done
the front wheel is next to useless but is a complicated structure
steers by differential brakes
2 or 3 years down the line it will be done and ready to tow a 262 at legends
sorry, they went ages ago
