Latest ROFAR update and Questions for everyone.

It seems this is Russia’s claimed experimental photon radar. http://newsland.com/community/8211/content/v-rossii-poiavilsia-novyi-tip-radiolokatora-s-elementami-radiofotonnykh-tekhnologii/6557693 https://www.qrz.ru/news/15309.html

    Source: RTI Concern
At the scientific and technical council in JSC NPK NIIDAR, which is a part of JSC RTI, announced the creation of the first experimental locator with elements of radiophotonic technologies. The scientific and technical council at NIIDAR, in which scientists and designers from Planet Design Bureau, MEPhI, Modul Scientific and Technical Center and other enterprises participated, reviewed the first use in our country of new radiophotonic technologies and components in the experimental radar station created.
This is the first model of an existing experimental locator using radiophoton technologies. Experts have successfully conducted field tests of its components and the entire sample to detect and accompany the air target. In the framework of works on radiophotonics, an ultra-wideband phased antenna array based on radiophotonic elements using optical data transmission lines, a multichannel X-band input analog ultrawideband microwave signal to an optical waveform, an optical diagrammer, and an optical ultra-wideband heterodyne were created.

“We confirmed the possibility of using radiophotonic technologies in radar using discrete elements. The experimental model we created so far has a lot of shortcomings and limitations in application, but the positive result allows us to move on to the next phase of development of radiophotonic technologies, – said Maxim Kuzyuk, General Director of AO RTI, – we need to start developing and developing promising technologies and, in particular, photonic integrated circuits, they can compete with electronic products operating in different ranges of radio waves – in millimeter and centimeter, in when extra bandwidth and high resistance to external electromagnetic effects are required. “

I have counted 960 T/R modules. Now not to get everyone’s hopes up but is that a legit experimental ROFAR radar? Or is it like some fga-35 or fga-50 radar because the flat planar appearance looks very identical and the t/r module count on my opinion seems way too low in comparison to be on a su-35 or su-57. But looking through fga-35 or fga-50 radars I think this radar is a legit ROFAR radar because of its appearance and the way its modules are arranged. Can anyone super zoom or have any images online that show what the description says on the lower left side of the radar with the KRET emblem?

My latest quora answer link in which I see some ways the Su-57 or Mig-41 can be used with ROFAR for anyone interested. https://qr.ae/TW8N6w

are you so sure on the thrust to weight ratio of the Su-57″

I did not take this source serious anyways. He just did not specify the t/w and engine until LMFS cleared it up for me.

then t/w of 11.3, so similar to F-135 then”

Why are we comparing the t/w of this engine to the F-135? I am sure that VTOL needs a lot of thrust to take of vertically than an aircraft that has to use a runway. If that t/w was correct wouldn’t the F-35 easily outrun the SR-71 and even the claims of mach 4 with the mig-41? What measurements did you take to get t/w of 11.3? Wikipedia is telling me this for the F-35 regarding t/w.

    • With full fuel: 0.87
    • With 50% fuel: 1.07

and for the SU-57 its telling me this.

    • AL-41F1: 1.02 (1.19 at typical mission weight)
    • izdeliye 30: 1.16 (1.36 at typical mission weight)

    Did I miss anything?

“Both the emitter and the receiver have been built on the basis of the experimental prototype as part of the R&D work. All this works and performs the location – we emit an ultra-high frequency signal, it is reflected back and we receive and process it and get the radar picture of an object. We see what we need to do to make it optimal,” he said.

Lets say there is a target 100kms away. Can someone tell me the accuracy of how far off target would VHF, UHF, L-band or S-band would be in comparison to X-band guidance? I am experimenting with stealthflankers radar calculator using the 64 t/r modules of the k-77m with estimated power for each module in determining the width of the radar beam of what targets it can engage at certain distances for my own curiosity. Any feedback on this would be much appreciated.

Does anyone have information on the RTI group regarding mmics? They have developed aerial and ground radars before as well. I am just curious if there are any sources to show the specifications of their laser modules. I highly doubt AESA or PESA will be their pursuit in the future regarding newer aircrafts.

    “Dude, why the aggression”

Where? You seem to constantly be mentioning me on this board and the Pakistan board. You seem to have more posts than I do since the creation of your account being brand new. No one here is bad talking Pakistan.

Talking of which you were going to get back to us all about more info on the “Pakistan lawyer in Facebook confirming a downed PAF pilot”….”

    Still mad?

There were rumors citing a beekeeper in the democratic republic of Congo that a Sukhoi 30 was also shot down, but lets leave that for another day.

If I found actual evidence of the f-16 in pieces I hope you guys wont kill me, I feel like I am in F-16.net. I get your reasons for being so defensive but just chill.”

Sputnik citing London-based lawyer! enough said. “

There are indian sources that have said this to. I will find more information on the lawyer and pilots and see if there are any paki sources on this so hang tight.

    “that’s a pretty low bar.

Easy with the damage control. I was just asking if the lawyer, father, and son were legitimate people

    https://sputniknews.com/asia/2019030…pilot-lynched/ “N

ot only was a Pakistani F-16 allegedly shot down in a dogfight with Indian jets on Wednesday, but the pilot, Shahaz-ud-Din, was reportedly killed after successfully bailing out from the doomed aircraft, the newspaper Firstpost reported, citing London-based lawyer Khalid Umar”

“The lawyer, who says that he obtained the information from the pilot’s family, claims that Shahaz-ud-Din was mistaken by locals in the Pakistani Nowshera sector as a pilot from a downed Indian jet and was subsequently lynched by a mob. According to Umar, the Pakistani pilot was eventually rescued by the Pakistani Army, but later died from the injuries he sustained in the assault.”

Before I get bashed for bringing up sputnik as a source and people start shouting no no there was no F-16. Is this Pakistani pilot a legitimate pilot and did this **** really happen(him getting lynched)? If this did happen than RIP for the pilot 🙁 .

    Found this on Quora, ”

Most intersting point is Wing Commander Varthaman’s father, S Varthaman, as Air Marshal , Shahaz-ud-Din’s father, Waseem-ud-Din, is also an Air Marshal of the Pakistan Air Force, who has flown F-16.”

His father has flown an F-16…..Is there any information to what aircrafts he has flown?

https://qr.ae/TWXRqp Did Khalid Umar really post on FB that he was the pilot of the F-16? http://www.uniindia.com/news/india/can-reality-be-so-strange-fb-post-claims-f-16-pakistani-pilot-was-killed-by-local-mob/1515947.html

Just an image update of the aim-120C. Not to piss anyone off.

“Wow! FIRST TIME in the world — Mig-21 shoots down an F-16! Great job Indian Air Force!” Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur tweeted, adding “Someone just asked me — if a MiG-21 has shot down an F-16, what happens to their bid for the IAF mega 114 fighter contract?”

So will this also effect India’s contracts with Lockheed Martin if India has this point of view?

I’d imagine that the stand-off range of Israeli air strikes will not be greatly effected in the long run.” That depends on EW systems next and even things like decoy emitters fooling radiation missiles, etc. There were some NATO aircrafts that were shot down before. In fact the addition of this air defense system is not a walk in the park if the US and Israel asked Ukraine(very shit s-300 variants) for information and asked Greece with their outdated variants. We both have opinions but what comes down next are the results.

“That’s a very simplistic way of looking at it. If the Israelis do, in fact, launch air raids in territory covered by the S-300 in the near future will you accept that this proof of the lack of effectiveness of the S-300 system?”

Depends on the cost of their operation like will they spend more than NATO did on their war efforts n Kosovo(if their F-16 was in fact shot down)? If they still launch strikes the question is how far instead of before with no long range air defense present.

But the S-300 is just another anti aircraft missile system – it’s not a miracle weapon” I agree but I wonder if the chances have increased since the last time the F-16 was shot down by a s-200 in Syria. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wbl-i3HIcM don’t be saying ahh this is BS keep in mind a jewish news agency posted this video.
