I saw a large wire-spoked wheel complete with aviation tyre at the Ferrymead Museum (Christchurch, New Zealand) many years ago.
My informant at the time told me that it was off a WW1 Handley-Page aircraft, and had been bought to NZ in the 1920s as a trade exhibit for the tyre company.
If it is still there, all we need is the rest of the aircraft.
Data Plate attached…provenance ???
( coat already on before typing !!! ) 😀
Having another Lanc could be a bonus when one goes Tech.
if you want to see one taxi, badger Duxford to get theres in a state to taxi .
Just out of interest ( and I realise that Duxford do not restore exhibits to taxiing condition ) what sort of state is their Lanc in – Mechanically complete, good engines, systems plumbed etc,etc ?
Certainly wouldn’t get out of here ( Schipol ) today. Cloud base about 600 feet and generally ‘orrible !!
Would love to see it, unfortunately it hasn’t made it to Kazakhstan yet !!……….Mind you, there’s a lot of things that haven’t made it to Kazakhstan yet !!! 😀

Great to see something different for a change, thanks for posting !
I’m still in contact with my ex and I’ll admit now that if the opportunity presented itself I’d welcome her back tomorrow.
Hope your current missus doesn’t read this Mike, or you might be chasing that opportunity sooner than you think !!! 😀

Getting a call from the other half back home and finding out that ( and I really don’t know how she managed it ) she managed to put moisturiser on her sandwiches instead of mayonnaise.
Almost as good as the time she thought she had made herself a cup of coffee and upon drinking is realised that she’d used lamb gravy granules by mistake !!!:D:D:D

The Irish accent is another one that has suffered a total mauling at the hands of actors from both sides of the pond. For starters….
Tommy Lee Jones in Blown Away
Richard Gere in the Jackal
Sean Connery in The Untouchables
Not knocking acting skills…..but the accents…..oh dear !!! 😮
