Last Gloster Javelin flight : XH897 to Duxford Jan 1975.
Would have loved to have seen and heard one if these flying….:(
My Thoughts :
X-Factor.
Like it or loathe it, it regularly attracts a viewing audience of several million viewers so obviously satisfies a market demand. If you don’t like it….don’t watch it….there’s plenty other things to do on a Saturday night.
Alexandra Burke
Heard her and she can obviously sing. From what I’ve seen / heard of the programme this year, was the best contestant vocally and as such deserves her win.
Hallelujah
Somethings better left as is. Fantastic composition by Cohen and I always like his performances, but the raw emotion of Buckley is hard to beat.
Live Bands / Backing tracks
For me, live band every time and I don’t necessarily agree that it makes no difference to the performers capability. The whole atmosphere of a performance with a live band is hard to beat, and a good artist will use the energy and vibe from a well practised, tight band to take their performance to the next level.

Edit, also I seem to remember that it is Harvards that do the bombing of the U-boat pens at the films’ dramatic end.[/QUOTE]
Correct, watched it again a couple of weeks ago….one of the best War films / dramas ever made……in my humble opinion.
Pretty sure it’s a Harvard that strafes Clint and the boys in Kelly’s Heroes.
…..It’s a mother beautiful bridge … and it’s gonna be there !!! :D:D
There is this replica of Karl Jatho’s early machine at Hanover Airport, (as well as bits and pieces of a 747) which was allegedly first flown on August 18th 1903, thus, if true, pre-dating the Wright Brothers by 4 months.
Thanks for the clarification Mark12
Is it just me or is the cannon barrel fairing missing on the port wing ?

Battler Britton ( remember him anyone ) flew Whirlwinds in one of his stories. Had it as a kid, possibly still residing in my mothers attic !!!
Seing that photo of 976 just reminds me I once had a beautiful Lanc within an hours drive of my house, now residing in a container thousands of miles away in bits.
Yes, I know its been done to death on this forum before. Just wanted to share a moment of self indulgent melancholy.
Likewise ……black armbands for a day ??? 😉
