I know that KB976 was pretty much intact while at Strathallan, and indeed had engine runs there, but obviously it was sectioned for transport to it’s new home.
Does anyone have any pictures of the strip-down and subsequent transportation that they can post ??

Really hope that funding can carry her through to the Leuchars airshow in September.
Great stuff. I wonder if this was the one flown in the ’80s(?) by Neil Moffat
XL 502 was the Gannet flown by Neil Moffat, now resident at the Yorkshire Air Museum.
Unfortunately suitable licensed airfields around this area are few and far between. Any Flight Training Organisation setting up in the locality would therefore have the additional expense / complication of licensing the airfield.
The alternatives for training now will be Kinloss, Perth, Inverness or Dundee, all of which involve at least 1 hours drive. Also has a knock on effect for locally based commercial pilots wgho still like to do a bit of instructing. Don’t imagine that many of them will be willing to have a 2 hour drive (round trip). Not sure how much instructors get by the hour, but would venture that there wouldn’t be a lot left after fuel for the car is taken into account.
Seems to be another one of these situations where everybody loses…..
Personally I think the best way is that each member nation of the United Kingdom has, and uses their own anthem for events where they are individually represented.
For events under the UK banner, where all member nations are banded together, there should be one anthem, but it should be an anthem that is dedicated to the country, not individuals within it, no matter their standing.

Scotland missed out by a whisker also. Did our usual of pulling off miraculous performances against the likes of France and Italy, only to blow it against the mighty Georgia !!! 🙁
Quite like a bit of footie, although it suffers from the inherent problem of the ball being the wrong shape and you can’t pick it up and run with it !!! 😉

I’m either –
G-ASJG : BAC 1-11 ( noisy )
or
G-BSJG : Thunder and Colt balloon ( Full o’ hot air )
How very co-incidental !!!! 😀
Agreed, no picture of a distressed classic looks good in my book.

Same things happening to me…….never had a problem viewing pics before ???
I’ll be….
At church for the remembrance day service, with my wife and children. I’m not a regular church goer, but it carries a memorial to all members of the congregation who died during the 2 World Wars.
My Great-Great uncle’s name, who died in the trenches in France in 1915 is on the memorial. I’m of the opinion that the least I can do is pay my respects to him and indeed all others who fell (then and since), and pass on some history to my children. Hopefully they will grow up with the same sense of respect that I was fortunate enough to gain from my father.
I have in my possession, a letter written by my Great-Great Uncles brother (who was serving with him in the same complex of trenches) to his parents, about 30 mins after his death. It is an incredibly emotive – and treasured – document, due in no part to the matter of fact and “proper” way in which it is written, displaying a level of maturity beyond the years of it’s author.
It is one that leaves me in no doubt as to where my thoughts and respects belong, especially this Sunday.
