It’s a shame that no-one could at least throw a tarpaulin over the shattered canopy in an effort to keep water ingress to a minimum. 🙁
Thanks to the EAA and Cooking Lake Aviation Academy over 80 kids between 8 and 17 got thee first flights in an aircraft
A fantastic achievement and excellent initiative that can only be commended.
Well Done !!
Mr Autogyro the legendary Ken Wallis
.
Legendary is a word that I fear, is used far too easily these days of celebrity obsessed society, but in this case totally and wholly appropriate and deserved.
I have a great respect for this man, not only for his achievements in aviation, but for his engineering abilities also.
Hope he’s around for a good while yet !
Hi Darren,
Hows life up the “Blue Toon”
Totally agree about needing a standing area, me and a couple of the lads said the same thing during the gig, and don’t get me started on the beer prices ( £ 3.50 for a bottle of Budweiser) 😮 😮 .
Just goes to show though, these guys were playing the Lemon Tree a few years ago !!
It’s strange how different venues suit different bands. Was at the Lemon Tree a couple of weeks ago to see Stiff Little Fingers. ( For those who don’t know Aberdeen, the Lemon Tree is a small – 400ish absolute max capacity – venue, low roof, etc, etc. ) Great atmosphere to watch old punk bands and the like, but just wouldn’t work as well at an exhibition centre type venue.

Hi Gollevainen,
I guess the closest gig to you this year would be the Sweden Rock Festival at Solvesborg, 6th June.
As for setlist, well it varies tour to tour, but they cover from The Piper at The Gates Of Dawn through to The Division Bell. There is a possibility that at a few of this years gigs they will play the whole of Wish You Were Here ( 30th anniversary and all that) as the first part of the show.
Last night’s show was 3 hrs long, so a lot of material gets covered.

You could always move !!!:D 😀
Never met, much admired.
A shame so many people in this country do not know how much he helped to shape their future.
God Bless.
Are they all still alive??? I heard Manny Charlton died? Whats the fee btw?
Manny Charlton still very much alive and still recording ( new album Americana Deluxe was released 16th Feb ) though he left the band in 1990.
However, Darrell Sweet, the original drummer , died of a heart attack back in 1999
Good band site here : http://www.nazarethdirect.co.uk
As for the fee, well I can only imagine it’s a bit like buying a car :- the older the car and the more miles on the clock, the cheaper it will be though to be quite honest, you probably won’t find too many low mileage “Ferrari’s” around Aberdeen harbour !!! 😀 😀

Ivan,
Nazareth playing here in Aberdeen tomorrow night at the Beach Ballroom – a stones throw away from where a Scottish “lady”, probably smelling strongly of that certain beverage, will ( for a fee ) adopt you for about an hour !!!!:D 😀
