The logic is funny. We speak about Mig21 compared to F15…. And still the IAF Bison is seen as superior.

standard of returning personal flame? Somehow you guys are dreaming during daytime. How is it possible that I don’t see Russia as a tiger? In the west Russia is a broken country. Warsaw pact is almost Nato. Their country is fragmented. Their forces are weak. And there is little innovation. They are not even able to help to get Kaveri up and running 😀

IAF can’t just add every fighter in the world to its inventory. Looking at the problems with mig21, jaguars, mirages they have enough trouble keeping the inventory in the air. Now it is starting up 140 MKI’s. Maybe buying another 125 Gripens. Not only will that cause beutiful pictures of divers aircrafts but also headaches of building, maintaining and flying.

To be honest? Russia will more do for India (and the cash there) then for its own forces! Look at MKI, Brahmos, Ghorskov and a lot more. They do not induct these weapons in huge quantities in Russian forced, do they? 😀

With oil priced at above 40$ in the international market ?? HELL NO !

Russia is rolling in money today. 😀

I doubt that Russia is rolling in the money. Maybe the criminals but looking at the military forces they are happy to sell anything.

    >>>Pakistani FC-1s DO exist on paper only. Have they been inducted yet? Do any exist outside China? No? PAPER.

I rest my case. One sided opinion. At the same time PAKFA is flying around? It is the same logic I see with rating. IAF topics have high ratings. Isn;t that accidental or typical? Feel free to fill in the logic.

PAKFA reminds me the moments that most Indians were posting that FC1 was just a paperplane. It was never going to fly. Now we will see how far cripled Russian economy can go with PAKFA. Besides pictures we haven’t seen much. Not even with a lot of pr from India. Or are we totally wrong? Enlighten me. (Harry this is not even close to your remarks about fc1 so leave it to others).

Guys c’mon. No need to start sentimental fight. We are comparing jaguars and mirages 3/5. Both are vintage aircraft. The mirage has been upgraded en the jags will be. The size is also important. We are talking about 12/14 jaguars against more then 100 Rose upgraded mirages. Can we go to techical part and stop getting angry. No need to.

Ten Jaguar Ims, apparently all that remain in service, will be refitted with an improved Israeli Elta EL/M-2032 multimode radar.

US, India differ on issue of Patriots

    By Our Correspondent

WASHINGTON, Dec 9: The United States and India are believed to have developed some differences over New Delhi’s expected purchase of a missile defence system from Washington, diplomatic sources told Dawn.

According to these sources, India wants to purchase the latest PAC-3 version of Patriot missiles while the United States is offering an earlier, PAC-1 version, used in the two Gulf wars.

The two countries have been involved in a substantive dialogue for supplying the Patriot missiles defence system and Deep-Sea Rescue Vehicles to India. US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, who arrived in New Delhi on Thursday, was expected to finalize the deal during his two-day stay in the Indian capital.

But diplomatic sources in Washington believe that India’s demand for the latest PAC-3 version of the missile defence system could delay the deal. Policy-makers in New Delhi believe that if the Patriot deal goes through, they will not have to worry about the proposed $1.2 billion US arms package for Pakistan.

The Patriots will drastically improve India’s military capability, giving it a huge strategic advantage over both China and Pakistan. Patriot is a long-range, all-altitude, all-weather air defence system to counter tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and advanced aircraft.
