IMHO I am not shocked that China moves towards more Chinese products even if they have some components imported. With in our humble mind that they gradually will replace those items I see just the logical development for a world power. One day it will be competing with any other western missile. To say how far the Chinese parts are… If they want to replace the Russian missile then we can asume that it is not in the beginning. If that news is correct.
I don’t understand why one side is trying to bring down the abilities of a plane and the other side is making it holy. Very often LCA nd FC1 are debated (which is good cause it is a forum) but ending in emotional flaming. Both planes are indirect a first try to start 3’rd gen fighterjet. Both planes are in a hurry to become operational in a few years. We hear both side options that are superior. I have seen a simple part like the non composite parts of FC1. That seems to be a reason for being less advanced. The reason for no composite is that it should be easy to produce and to maintain. If those parts are gradually replaced by composite then the weight will be reduced. I think we should leave those LCA and FC1 battles. If we look in the west then we can remind the everlasting comparisation between F16 and Mirage2000. Personally I like both and depending on pilot abilities both have their superior fields. Same can be said of LCA and FC1. Be happy and enjoy both planes.
Both have their design parameters and we will see how they will end up in real combat. Comparing only the weight sounds amusing but not realistic. Even if we talk about the conventional design. We all know those two JSF’s. We all know which one is selected. Does that mean the low tech is selected? There are two intresting years ahead and we all will see the both planes evolve.
More a snecma end then a F100… Still not very clear what it is.
Sounds like a bermuda triangle. One disadvantage is that the mirage has only one engine so engine problems are more problematic. I doubt that suddenly the pilots became more erratic. Years of experience and pretty fine history are enough pudding to me. IMHO I think it is either bad luck that it starts to happen more frequent (long time nothing happened) or suddenly bad spare parts (falling wheel or engine troubles) are becoming headache.
The ultimate glass cockpit… Literally 😉
Here some avionics.
Here the K8 cockpit. No idea whether it is a newer version. Maybe someone can give info.
Which field will it be better then Fc1?
I remember those editted pics of Ef2000 and redesigned as J10. Or even J7 into something strange. The CG software is much improved but sometimes it does make the result even more strange. What now? F111 with Mirage 3 intakes and some playstation parts.
Thanks hyperwarp. Now this is what I wanted to show you…

Democracy or dictatorship is a matter of politics and we do not talk about that. The topic is about IAF and frankly we should stick to that. A pointed positive about improved conditions in the future so lower the temperature. Appreciated.
The design is intresting but the intakes are very ugly. Somehow they will block the movement of the canards (if these suppose to move). I looked at some more pics and noticed lot of unguided ground weapons… Even two dumb bombs under the body. Is it a follow up of A5?
eh…
The more you train in peace, the less you bleed in war! Better to train intensively in peace and risk attrition than sit upon ones haunches, depend upon obsolete eqpt and pray about martial superiority or keep whining for free eqpt! 😉
The Mirage attrition is still pretty much the same as other Mirage operators worldwide. And given the numbers of 21’s in service and their mission profile- their attrition will be higher.
Somehow the rest of the world has other perspective. I have read in Indian and world media that the crash rates are a deep concern. You can link that (politically) to big airforces, pilot errors or anything else but the fact is that it is happening. I think it has more to do with ageing fleet (backbone is mig21) and not good enough maintenance (falling wheels/crashed engines) and pilot training (missing of Hawk). Anyway. Things are clear for them and they surely looked to all options to improve that.
