I’m Israeli but I’m living in India temporarily because of the job of my father.

I will always be an Israeli, not matter where I’m living. 😉

I found your remark on the Lavi’s cancellation a tad suggestive, so i thought i would give you some factual background. Now if you think those have nothing to do with each other, i think you should check the synapses in your central neural system.

This is go to your first two questions. No and No.

I’m not suggstive. The Lavi had many reasons to its’ cancellation. One of them as you wrote was its price was higher than excepted. Though, the main one is the one that I’ve written.

What does that has to do with what I have written?

I just wrote that the main reason to the cancellation of the Lavi was the pressure of the US.

“The Black Spit” is the personal Spitfire of the previous president of Israel, Ezer Vietzman (Wiseman). And yes, it’s prevented in a flight condition. He flew in it in the “War of Independance”.

I think we should remind you WHY the Lavi was cancelled. The Lavi was cancelled because of US pressure on Israel, and the US gave us 60 F-16C/D Block 40 (30 C’s and 30 D’s). Why? because the US was afraid that the Lavi will take up the place of the F-16 in the light fighters market.

Following the cancellation of the indigenous Lavi fighter project in May of 1988, a follow-on order was placed for 60 F-16C/D Block 40 aircraft (30 F-16C’s, 30 F-16D’s), plus an option for 15 more. This was under Peace Marble III. The first of these Fighting Falcons, all nicknamed “Barak II”, arrived in Israel in August of 1991.

The chance you will see an F-16 without AAM’s on its wingtips is pretty small. The installation of AAm’s on the wingtips is increasing the life-span of the wings. It’s decreasing flutters and some other forces which acting on the wings during flight.
