They only saw him approach the aircraft, not climb into the landing gear. I presume it was dark at the time. I too find nothing funny in that someone should be so desperate as to try and stow away in the landing gear of an aircraft. Terrible for the man himself, terrible for his family and no less terrible for the poor bu**er on the ground at LHR who actually found him.

    Regards,

    kev35

The Person was seen climbing a fence and running towards aircraft about to take off, this should of at least warranted a call from the tower to stop the aircraft from even moving.
I certainly don’t find it funny in any case

I cant understand why the SA authorities allowed the man to get to the aircraft in the first place secondly why they let an aircraft continue its flight knowing that a man had climbed into the landing gear, it beggars belief

Cloud 9 I do agree that the scheme should be representative of the occasion ,but this is the first of 10 to be painted ,If the rest of the aircraft are of similar colour scheme and design then I will be really disappointed and will say so ,But I was told this one was painted as such to carry the flame form Athens to the UK “that’s why it,s called the DOVE a symbol of Peace”
I am yet to see it for myself and I think that the pictures don’t do it justice and I have seen this on more than one occasion before.
I had a Look at Sandy,s Drawings I do like them but to me, there too cluttered/Busy and clash with the Chatham Tails and Sandy I do agree with you on Miss/Mrs/Mr I not quite sure Emin 😮
To Be Honest I think that they should have put this out to the School children of the UK as They did do a good job of the Blue Peter Scheme

As far As Ive heard G-EUOH will be bring the Flame form Athens and was painted in the gold colour scheme ,the others I heard will painted in a more colourful Scheme and I will hold judgement until the others have been painted
Dammed if you don’t Dammed if you do springs to mind
I’m just pleased that BA have decide to paint some of their aircraft for the Olympics

Just a quick and random but related question, how comes EK does not serve EDI at all?

It seems rather strange to me that there is not no demand for that routing, and yet there obviously appears to be a large demand between GLA-DXB, even though EDI is the capital of Scotland?

When Emirates first decide to fly to Scotland they approached both airports,GLA had the facilities that Emirates required IE jet ways dedicated gate and were more willing to accommodate Emirates requirements
EDI hasn’t/or didn’t have the capability to handle Emirates requirement
as Im lead to believe EDI cant handle a fully loaded T7 their max is a 767/A330 for stands and runway length

How long before they switch to a single A380….?

that depends on BAA Glasgow Investing some money on the infrastructure to accommodate the 380 ,
I’m sure if Emirates were to say to BAA Glasgow it wouldn’t be to long before the work started

The facts are Clear BA has Turned a loss into Profit and Paid its staff a bonus even those who chose to strike.

Virgin Has taken a “PROFIT” (if you can call it that) and turned it into a loss and I bet the their staff wont be seeing a bonus this Year But I expect their senior managers will

It nice to see you post that you accept BA has suffered due to the tough economical times I think that’s a First

Seems that the profit is not all that it seems

Im all for Rewarding Staff if a profit was made ,but to hand out a reward then Axes 600 staff seems quite odd to me , and it seem to backs up my initial comments about the so called Profit and the creative accountancy that they use
And is that A good Business Strategy especially when the parent company exposes the truth

BA on the other have Have a legal duty to issue correct figures as they are a PLC and are listed on the Stock Exchange, they aren’t using smoke and Mirrors to make themselves look good

Economics yet again ,its the same old story from you Cloud 9 you seem to think that the Economic recession dose not affect BA, it effects them a lot more than the tiddlers at LHR a Lot more

You have certainly hit the nail on the head about the alliances
No one will touch VS for that very reason
