I believe that the reason why BA dont fly from Glasgow to the US Is they had some difficulty with the Scottish excutive, when they drop the service, due to the lack of passengers . so their only way round this was to code share with AAL and I believe that the code share only started in the last few Years,

thats ok if you have the spare aircraft

That would be good ,but this is the MAN-JFK Flight

The BACX aircraft have nothing to do with BA maintance , they have their own facilities at Gatwick . At Glasgow we have 3 hangars BA, BACX and Loganair , I have yet to see any aicraft apart from their own in the respective hanagrs, and for the washing facilities the fact that BA send BNWH down to london would point to the fact that they do not or can not do it at Manchester, Also the time of turn round It would take about 2 hours just to prepare the aircraft for wash

yes , They have no facilites at Manchester so it would have to go to Heathrow for a wash, but is usually tied in with maintance, they would’nt just take it out of service just for a wash

Surely that would then mean that no BA or BACX plane ever gets washed at any airport other than LHR or LGW?
Mark if you read my comment when an aircraft gose for maintance either at Cardiff, Heathrow, Gatwick or Glasgow they get a tech wash before work begins, Heathrow is the only place that i know has a dedicated wash bay that can handle being used daily at all other airports they do not have the facillities, Now if they were to be washed at say Manchester that would meen BA having to lease the wash from an other airline which will mean cost
a Bit like you having a jet wash at home and going to the local garage to get your car washed

I was down at Manchester in September and BWNH looked far from shabby on both days, no worse than all the other Trans Atlantic flights , but it all boils down to cost, Im yet to find an airline company who can afford to wash it fleet every day
