    Holy inactive thread revival batman,

It’s unlikely much will actually be fielded, more likely to get Mk41 VLS and some form of land attack on the Type 26 before we see BMD capability. Although it’s important to note the scheduled end of TLAM production might be an issue.

If we are serious there is the faintest possibility any capability might coincide with a common Mk41 VLS order and retrofitting them into the Type 45’s as they come in for overhauls allowing for SM-3 or land attack capability to be incorporated. That might also allow Sea Ceptor (CAMM) to replace Aster 15’s increasing the missile load out.

I remember the Brazilian Frigate floating around in the Clyde one thing of note was the particularly large amount of black smoke she generated when moving at any speed especially when accelerating. Nice looking ship and she certainly looked quite clean considering how far she must have travelled to get here and I hope to see more of the Brazilian navy in future.

If the man in question was knowingly carrying the heroin or was connected in any way then the punishment should be the decision of the Chinese authorities. That decision should then be respected by foreign nations. I personally find the defence of having Bi-polar deeply offensive it has little to no bearing on a person’s moral compass and decision making ability. You would know that heroin is heroin and trying to smuggle it into a nation with a strict judicial system was dangerous and downright stupid. Furthermore the fact that he was alone and so far from home in a not so friendly part of the world shows that any mental illness was mild and if the family did have concerns what was he doing travelling alone.

It’s another thread about the Nimrod oh joy, the P-7 I doubt would have had any less problems than the Nimrod program and would have been entirely different. Maybe just maybe had the USN decided on and supported an aircraft as well as started buying said aircraft would it have better to just buy the same. It could also be argued if the current Government and the last government had not been so bloody stupid we could have sold the Nimrod to the US, of course it was a slim chance but still possible.

The problem as I see it within the UK is the fractured nature of the Public Transport system it’s not public transport as it’s provided by private companies in the business to make money. From what I know about European public transport parts of it are state owned and run as well as subsidised by the central and local governments. Infrastructure investment by central government the people that used to be able to commit large amounts of secure funding to projects in the UK has not been welcomed by many. Network Rail for instance has had its allocation of funds within the transport budget cut several times while targets have been changed and things micromanaged as new projects get forced upon them.

Any money would be far better spent on the decrepit rail infrastructure by improving the main routes connecting the country to a modern standard so that high speed rail could be utilised. What I mean by high speed rail is proper high speed rather than the current 140mph Javelin service something that is a bigger leap in speed and technology. Hopefully in doing so would reduce the amount of domestic short haul flights within the UK which should also have an impact on greenhouse gas emissions. Being greener of course is something of a difficult point as the electricity is still produced from fossil fuels but this could change as part of a wider project renewing parts of the national grid alongside new rail infrastructure. The problem is any large expenditure is near impossible as the United Kingdom is utterly bankrupt and has no money to spend on anything and will not have for quite some time. Even if we were not bankrupt I’m sure the green nutters would still find something wrong with rail improvements and there would be opposition elsewhere that would rather the money be directed to welfare projects.

Lovely looks as if the system is working well for someone for once it should however be restructured so if you have over 2-3 children and it starts penalising the claimant. If you work and support your own children then fine if you have lots of children for the handouts you should not be helped.

Next General election, UKIP could be getting quite popular.
