It was A-7H. Those a/c will be retired in few months
Strange I thought he was dead. What about Spector? Is he alive?
On 17 January 1991, Osirak was attacked a third time by 56 USAF F-16Cs supported by F-15C CAP, AWACS, Tankers and Sparkvarks. Between many SAMs in the air and Iraqi smoke pots obscuring the target, the attack was a total failure and 2 F-16s were shot down by SAMs. I’ve seen F-16 HUD video from the attack and it was ugly, ugly, ugly.
On 20 January 1991 a fourth attack on Osirak was made by eight F-117s supported by 2 tankers. The target was wrecked by hits from sixteen 2000 lb bombs and all aircraft returned without damage. Score one for stealth and PGMs.
Could you provide some sources for the above claim?
I know that recently an Israeli magazine had posted the CCIP HUD images of one F-16 prior and after impact. Could someone post’em here plz?
I mean operations like Operation Bolo, Opera etc… not individual tactics
Fantasma, I would like to hear your opinion of this, and as it seems to me on paper Turkey seems a lot stronger than Greece, they got way more fighters, they got tankers, geographically it is easier for Turkey and etc.
On paper the US should smash down the Vietnamese Forces… Theories, just theories.
Mystic, if u have no interest in this thread then y not bugger off????
Turkey and Greece could easily go to war, maybe not full scale but certainly over Cyprus, Aegean Islands or the Bosphurus and there is not a damn thing the US, NATO or the EU could do about it!!!
This thread should therefore be directed toward what if Turkey launched an attack on Southern Cyprus just to give an example of a small scale war between the two, could Greece get aid through? Does the Hellenic Navy have the power to break a blockade?
Anyone who says this isn’t possible needs to read some history books, and if ur not interested in “vs.” threads then don’t reply, it isn’t an obligation to reply to every thread. (Mystic) 😡
I didnt express my view on the Greece vs Turkey scenario since you missed to notice that…
Nonetheless, I enjoy reading your expertize views on that matter… 😉

Definately a General spotter 😀
Thats because the underdogs have nothing to loose… Life is full of underdogs achievements
Actually it is 90 Scalp-EG and more than 200 Mica. A squad of 33 Mirage2k-5mk2 is quite good.
Looking at the orbat must say for its size and economy, Turkey has a HUGELY powerful TuAF.
with the addition of Ereyie definitely a top drawer AF.
Judging by that post I can see how people who dont know even the fundamentals of those two countries, post their views just for the shake of posting…
PS:Tuaf doesnt have Erieye
Pathetic thread…
15 new bulits + 3 options = 18
10 upgraded from EGM standard + 5 options = 1515+18=33 Mirage 2000-5 MkII’s which leaves 17 EGM/BGM’s.

I know, I know, its Verykokos but this time he’s correct…
28 or 33 Mirage2000-5mk2 is a more than decent number of aircrafts for a squadron. Glad about that.
If it is not Air Force Commander’s fault, why do you think it is a good move to take him out? Is it because of the importance of passengers on board? Or Are there other things that was going bad in the Greek Air Force played a role in this decision?
I think Greek military aviation structure should be changed totally. Greek Army Aviation should be commanded by Army not by an Air Force General. Similarly, Greek Navy P-3 are officially belongs to Greek Air Force. Marine matters should be dealt by Navy not by an Air Force….All flying vehicles belongs to Air force idea does not make sense to me in 21 century…
He should resign for lets say condolences reasons. Theres nothing bad in HAF.
As for your thoughts about the Greek military aviation, well, you got it wrong… And Greek Army Aviation is commanded by Army. Plus, we dont need advice from Turkey… No offense here.
Its 18+10= 28 Mirage2000-5mk2
