Not brilliant pics, only had an “instamatic” in those days. If I remember rightly they were taken at a very wet Yeovilton Air Day and nothing flew.
I saw XX105 early last year and there is no way it looks like it does in the photo posted on here, the engines were missing as was the rudder and the paint work was flaking off. I have been told that she has been moved away from the museum area ready for scrapping which i think is b****y disgusting bearing in mind the age and history of the airframe (ex British United’s G-ASJD). The problem with preservation in this Country is, it has to be a crowd puller to get preserved so it can bring in the readies. So, unless your a spitfire or a hurricane, you aint got a hope in hell.
One of my hero’s, excellent guitarist and I am glad I saw him last year (and he’s forgiven for being late……well worth the wait).

Well he obviously has NOT got a career in politics has he…….;)
Wings
I believe the Sea Prince wing would be unsuitable because of the engine mount, but thank you for the offer. Am very interested in the T6 wing from Dunbar or the Vampire wings from pagan01 and have sent private messages to both (i hope). Thanks for your help guy’s (and I knew someone was going to mention Red Bull 🙂 )
I remember
Remember this crash well as I was sat at Hurn Airport awaiting his arrival as he was due in to clear customs. At the time he was one of my hero’s and I had never seen a casa 2-111 before. The op’s chappie came out late afternoon to say his arrival was cancelled as the plane had crashed and the crew had been killed, and I was devastated. It was a bad year for Aviation personalities with Neil, Doug Bianchi and later, Ormond Haydon Baillie all going within a year or two, and if I remember rightly, Neil Williams had not been married very long and his wife was with him on that fateful day.(what I was told at the time)……….A very bad time, but all these people had an influence on my life. So thank you guy’s..
That’s very sad as Sandown was the Airfield where I took my first ever flight way back in June 1972 in an Auster G-APAA (Whatever happened to G-APAA……Anyone know ??)
Excellent, perhaps I may actually get to watch them this time. Thanks for the prior notice.

Honduras (again)
First picture shows the hulk of Cessna 02A (believed to be 684) on the dump at Toncontin. The military also have Cessna 172Ks YN-BYH and YN-BYQ (second picture) stored in a hangar and obviously WFU. But dont know if these are for spares or eventual rebuild. Think the local bird life use them for bombing practice
Costa Rica
Do Police Cessna’s count ?. Took these in March 2008 and show Cessna U206s MSP005, MSP006 and TI-SPD (wfu), and Cessna 210s MSP009 and MSP011.
The Honduras Cessna’s are 185Fs, 122 (the camo one, first noted in April 82) is still active while the other 123 is WFU.
You are right Phantom II this is a Cessna U206 registered No1, and is obviously used for VIP duties, unfortunately I could not get anywhere near it so what it was and where it came from is a mystery. But my books tell me it was impounded in May 07 then active with the military in Nov. 08. The other pic. is of 154 (previously registered 54) a Cessna 172I/K and, to my knowledge, is still active.
