Bit pointless putting it on in the first place then I would have thought. Still, if it keeps somebody out there reassured of their purpose in life………:)

🙂 Now follows a dick dance as to whether the Hydroski concept qualifies the Sea Dart as a flying boat…………..

SOC Ref SR71. Many thanks for your information.
Nuclear weaponry fit was not an issue I feel. Earlier US designs such as the Thunderchief and Vigilante carried Tac Nukes internally. Even the tiny Skyhawk was nuclear capable ,admittedly with an external weapon – and that could go down a carrier lift without folding its wings. The SLAR bays on the SR71 were pretty big and possibly a derived location at a guess.
Ref LBJ. Lots of differing stories on how the RS/SR inversion happened – even Curtis Le May is accused of having caused the change. It got inverted and there are two versions of the transcripts apparently. The rest seems to be supposition- but a good yarn nevertheless.
“B-12” study “and Nuclear bombs as well”. That is what I had understood over the years – however,do you have any open source written reference to this? – the other studies are also interesting -to me at least and I would welcome any references you might have.
According to the LBJ folk lore the ” S = Strategic ” was made up after the fact as a damage limitation exercise (the Strike mission by then having been deleted in any event) -which I suspect may be what you have also inferred from the literature.

Also the Red Pelicans in the mid 60’s were bright red by memory – again not Dayglo.

Also ref : Dayglo being “a type of orange”.
Yes , a Labrador is a type of dog – that doesn’t mean that a dog is a type of Labrador. Thus, when discussing Labradors, don’t include them as dogs in general.

There is a limited cutaway of the “Y” with half tone 3 view in Aeroplane Monthly of October 73, plus articles with some limited 3 views of both variants in Air Enthusiasts 65 and 66. AE 36 had an article on the Portugese Ginos. I guess it all depends on the scale of your models!

By memory the Erb.61 (?) German Canberras were orange, not DayGlo.

Keep Digging 🙂 (Incidentally I seem to remember that the “A” in the CIA airframes allegedly came from a series of so-called “Archangel” studies (1-10) -post the U-2 “Angel” company nickname and leading to the A-11 & A12.) Although the beast came into service as the “Strategic Reconnaissance” 71 , the original concept had a strike component and would therefore have had a nuclear capability in its early evolution.

Hi Sens. Presidents are allowed to, it seems !
Since “RS” was Reconnaissance /Strike and Strike means Nuclear,it kind of makes you wonder about the early “SR” 71 concept doesn’t it? 🙂
