    @Scorpion

Just read, have read or translated the original.
Then compute 100+ planes delivered and add
11 planes per year for -18 years for 180 more.
    2028-2029.

As here in my source :

“Au rythme de 11 par an, cela fait encore sept ans de production pour la commande ferme. Or, la cible totale est 286 avions. Donc il y a encore 17 ans de production”, a souligné Olivier Zajec, directeur adjoint du cabinet de conseil en stratégie CEIS, interrogé par l’AFP. Selon lui, il est exclu que l’armée de l’air française réduise sa “cible” et achète un autre type d’avion de combat.

—At the rythm of 11 ACs per year, that means another 7 years of production for the passed orders. And yet, the total target is 286 planes. So there are 17 production years remaining”, underlined Olivier Zajec, second director of sales at the CEIS strategy council cabinet interviewed by the AFP. According to him, it is excluded that the AdlA downzises its “target” nor buy another type of combat aircraft.—

    Drone of the Day #2

As the above pics shows, our drone of the day is of non-frivolous
    appearance.
It rather likes the difficult zones of war where it can deliver supplies
to advanced troops. Even its control station is demure but fieldworthy.

The FR-102 embodies the myriad of possibilities hiding
    in the TUAV family.

Tomorrow, we will meet its US big brother. Any guesses?

    Good day all, Tay.

France warns of end of Rafale fighter jet production

Copy of a post from the Rafale news thread :

    Quote:
“Le message est clair : Dassault ne construit pas des Rafale pour les stocker. S’il n’y a pas d’export, les chaînes se limiteront aux commandes françaises, soit à ce jour 200 appareils”, au-delà de la centaine déjà livrés, a souligné auprès de l’AFP¨une source gouvernementale.
“The message is clear : Dassault does not build planes for stocking. If there are no exports, the lines will restrain themselves to the French orders, to wit 200 aircrafts, further than the hundred already delivered” has underlined to AFP a government’s source.

The MinDef’s message specifies deliveries until 2030 to deliver all 286+ ACs.
The modernization upgrades will go on but he is nearly uncommitting from any further fighter buys!
The English language transcripts give the impression that the line will stop at 180 which the original contradicts hence this translation.

    Dassault’s just been served nonetheless

    From here :

    http://www.liberation.fr/depeches/01012376222-la-production-du-rafale-sera-arretee-si-dassault-n-arrive-pas-a-l-exporter-assure-longuet

Let me add a second Tay Transl excerpt :

L’arrêt de la production ne serait décidé qu’une fois que l’armée française aurait eu livraison de tous les appareils commandés.

“En tout état de cause, la production destinée à l’Armée française ne s’arrêtera pas avant l’horizon de 2030”, a précisé le ministre à l’AFP. “Les livraisons aux armées se poursuivront, très substantiellement, au delà de 2020. Parallèlement, l’avion fera l’objet d’évolutions entre 2020 et 2030”, a-t-il dit.

    TT:

The production stoppage would not be decided before the French Forces will have taken delivery of all the planes ordered.

“As things are, the production destined for the French Armies will not stop before the 2030 horizon”, specified the Defence Minister to the AFP. “The deliveries to the armies will go on, very substancially, beyond 2020. On a parallel course, the
aircraft will be the object of evolutions between 2020 and 2030″, he said.

I just wanted again to make sure that the discrepancy be made available
for all to see, considering the essential difference in numbers.

    Good day all, Tay.

LOL MrMalaya “ruining” his own thread by being too good and too quick:D

Of course, the Shtil2 from as early as MAKS 2005 and still
one of the best looking projects.

Here’s the link to MP”net where the good Digimon gave a nice set of pics:

According to Captain P, … or the Damoclès pod. For the SBU-38 AASM, the Damoclès is considered an excellent coordinates extraction sensor.

Oh My Gosh! But, but, Eagle1, that can’t be?
I have it on high authority that :

… it’s the opinion of people who’ve used it.

    that

    the mediocre Damocles.

    doesn’t cut it?

Darn, whom to trust; I’m at a lost!

That’s not my opinion, it’s the opinion of people who’ve used it.

Eagle goes some of the way with his explanation, but my impression is that it’s laser isn’t great either, with many of the same problems that afflicted TIALD (and worse), and with no greater range than Litening 3 or Sniper.

So not an opinion but still an impression?
For us simple folks, I believe that’s just too subtle!
Or devious, depending on PoV.

    For AtoG,I hope the EF gets Brimstone ASAP;
right after the 250kgs Paveways if possible.
    CMs can wait.

The HEA was due to be in frontline operational service a few weeks ago anyway. Jon confirmed over on starstreak it’s been so for several weeks now.

HMSS has been on delivery for over a year albeit slowly.
