We are all waiting for an announcement all according to
our respective sensibilities and some as mere onlookers.
But really guys, even though the nature of E-foruming
warrants it, minute to minute is a bit much, good grief!

If only those elites had half the wits they pretend to AND
a little of the jolly folly that such brightness implies,
we’d have a chance of being shook up by Lula/Dilma
selecting the TEJAS or deciding instead to build their
own ninth gen A/C but as is… well, 65% Rafale/35%
Gripen NG but those percentages are as fixed as market, LOL !:rolleyes:

If, as I believe, there is no big ghost in the program
and that it’s a penny pinchin’ mismanagement move,
maybe France should just input a tad and buy Nimrods?

That makes little sense.
First, the MoD would scrap a new national program
then they’d buy foreign.
Even while being French as the said Atlantiques.
I cannot condone such foolery.

I still think those Nimrods should have survived the SDR.

FYI
French diplomatic sources gave face value of the 2000Hs
upgrade package at 1.5 billion €.
But informed sources think it will have to go down somewhat
in order to procede.

There is a need for 40 aircraft for Nuclear Strike. It will not be flown by the IAF and will be an independent deal from the MRCA, as stupid as the idea is I think Rafale is in with a shout for that one.

France has offered 40 Fast-track Rafales outside the MRCA as well hmm.

Exactly what i mentioned in post #683 et al. a while back.

Heck! If we take this another way it could become the
funniest acquisition program ever ending with 40 NUC Raffys,
a batch of twenty Phoons off the beleaguered Tranche 3 B,
20 Growlers to fudge China better and 40 Gripen NG to fudge
Pakistan with.
Of course full ToT from each and local prod. and special designs
and a kiss and bribe money!:D:D:D
Not only will it keep diversity of fleet to which IAF’s grease monkeys
must be used by now, but add those M2000s with dash nine type upgrade
and these perfectly serviceable Sukhois and FGFAs and voilà :

Actually Nic, even the NUC role can be done by any Rafale.
The B was designated because of added safety/security on
account of its two operators!
Any B in french inventory can do NUC with specific comm. boxes.
Plus any M of course and if push came to shove, so could the Cs.

Which is the whole concept of any plane, any role, anytime!
Let’s call it ultra suppa swing role extreme save some complain.

I was convinced that he was of American persuasion.

But as long as you brought it up, if Brits do keep at Rafale bashing,

Operational, agreed but Rafale had one each Pesa/Aesa
as it did in Switzerland.
Actually, what about the others?
I thought it was a requirement to show up with at least
a demo?
