    Hello pagen01 and thanks.

I have pointed out earlier however that tankers and AEW
are a special case because of AdlA Nukes delivery.

The A400-Ms could not be pooled Franco-British style either
because they alredy are !? … i.e. EATC

My best live choice would be Mantis.
Right at that research to development juncture and both
    partners seem ready for it.

    Good day all, Tay

    @ Hammer
Yes, yes mec! But it’s so much more fun with the occasional pun
and there was one lying* there so i recovered the fumble and ran with it,
    as you understood.

    * HUM! Double entendre!

    @ Merlin2

Pun aside, we’ll see but I’m not worried ’cause as in the very famous words
of Hammer* : “You can’t touch this!”

    * MC of course, not our reliable Brazilian comrade, LOL.

    Joker out.

    It is, Loke.
Which makes my point so call it an error from the journo
    or about.
The GMTI/GMTT was not available on the in service PESA,
    that much is true.
And yes, most software should require minimal rewrite.
    Scorpio already answered the rest.

Wanna bet that this is utter B.S. and that the AESA will climb onboard with all the same modes as the PESA?

Newer modes that were not feasible before have to be developed, sure.

So the Rafale still corresponds to the Mac.
Everything integrated from quality parts to perform with
    maximum transparency and minimum fuss.

But you are right about the Gripen, Loke.

At the same rate, all we know for sure at the moment about Rafale’s
RBE2 AESA is a number of MMICs of a thousand.
But since the first production units are rolling off as we speak,
we should get a better idea soon.

Note to whomever will steal a date with one first : PLEASE! Use
enough lighting while rapidly shooting the vid that you will then
    post here, pretty please!
    😮

The projected payload is 23 tons max so that it serves as a Hercs tanker
    no more.
Don’t tell me that you would find it O.K. for the RAF to deploy with nothing
    bigger in lieu of tankers?
And doesn’t Brazil have huge land expenses and enough waters to patrol?

    Just a thought!

P.S. Here are the numbers for a Kc-135 for comparison:
Range typical: 1,305 nm (2,420 km) with 150,000 lb (68,040 kg) transfer fuel

you can decide which one is the Mac and PC!!..

No, no, I can’t… since i own a Mac, since 1988… about same timing as the Rafale demonstrator and bought my first big real one, i.e. Yosemite/Smurf
in 1999…well, you see it follows the development schedule of the Raffy, LOL.

That was long before there was any prospect of the RN cross-decking with the MN (but while the USN was cross-decking with the French). It takes a peculiar kind of thinking to see any connection.

Oh, really? Well, pardon my ailing gout-ridden memory but…
wasn’t it last year that final unavailabilty of almost any F-35
source codes was declared by the Yankees and blew the undergarments off
all British military, politicians and aficionados ( Save the Scottish Guards! )?:D

    Hi KarenG, fair lady.
I checked some more on your prop and to tell the truth,
am beginning to reach the end of my wits.

Either one of those proposed earlier or a cut down version
of the paddles seen here :
    http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/De_Havilland_Mosquito_B.35.JPG

Cut down of course which may have been for a ground test bed .
I’ll keep looking but I thought I read something about this forum
having a resident propeller blade expert! That would be nice too!

    Good day all, Tay.

The ones who dropped out of eurofighter because the UK, Germany, Spain, and Italy didn’t agree to the do French demand that the French design and build the plane?

And the ones that made that nice sandy 7-1 possible? 😉

Why, in 2020 when we are actually going to be able to give the french access, are they going to be interested in a, by then, 15yr old airframe with equally aged materials tech?.

What relevance do you think the attempt to withhold source code from the UK has to that?

And if things were to go well just this once, other side of the mirror cooperation as i outlined earlier, we might be in the proces of producing a successor to both
that would solve so many problems and sellso amazingly well!

    @wsoul2k
Listen to Jonesy, those flying sailors are warriors first and will
cross-deck with flair, adding abilities to further capabilities, and
besides, if U.S.N., R.N. and La Royale already do it, a permanent
    operationalset-up shouldn’t hinder things too much!:p

    Good night all, Tay.
