Which is why certain information including the codes is being kept from the British.
Which may be why, on top of economics,
France suddenly seems like a good idea.
@ Arrows
For the Rafale NUC squadron to properly fulfill its contract to
the President as top authority, it needs both air refueling capabilities
( Strike Moscow, remember? LOL ) AND “clear skies” as far as can
be provided or until its Low-Low last segment makes “chat” difficult.
As such, both [K]C-135FRs and E-3Fs are doctrinally off-limits.
@ mrmalaya
You are about right but they are not the same type of demonstrator.
Different goals.
@ Grim901
Rafale replacement, LOL, LMAO, 😉
That’s a great one, mate! Darn, you must be quite the jolly fellow!
:p
Hi Kareng!
As asked earlier, could you tell us the location of the plant
where your dad worked?
it could really help narrow it down.
Read you later, Tay.:)
Something very basic about the Rafale wing design for the laymen
http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/view/1986/1986%20-%201475.html
pp. 41-43, and if you care to look at the pic posted by KKM57P,
air flux hitting the canard pushing the nose up/deflecting down to underwing carriage and elevons using remedial airflow to keep the a.. down.
Not that complicated, really!
Good day all, Tay.
@ Arrows
About pooling the E-3s, you can expect as much as when the new
EATC opened WITHOUT the French tanker fleet in it.
For the very same reason that these planes are elements in the
nuclear deterrence, you should not expect them pooled or at
least not in the classical unilocated sense.
Good day all, Tay.
13 pages already for a change in versions/types!!!
U.K. to ditch F-35B for PAK-FA, now THAT would be live!:D
O.K. It’s late, bye all, Tay.
@ Loke
Yeah! LOL Oh! Yep!
The recession-ridden governement sees the AESA and asks “How much?”
The Brass “GRMBLMBL billions?..! About !?”
The govt ” All these little thingies, are they necessary?”
The Brass “Well, the more, the better, sir!”
The govt ” Then, budget allowing, you’ll have to do with one!”
The Brass “But that’s a PESA, sir!”
The govt “Very good! Fine. You do that, chaps! Thank you!”
:dev2:
@ TooCool12f
Darn! I know the feeling!
@ Stryker73
Well, foxes, ya know…
@ everyone
Why don’t we all add our favorite project for Franco-British cooperation to our next post?
Like back in school, please tell me in one sentence what every proper young man should know about … … … Anglo-French project.
Having the advantage of a headstart, fairplay calling, I will not squander it
and will chose out of the material box and media sandbox.
My choice is for the equivalent to the Franco-German Brigade but less integrated, with units of both countries getting added common exercises
and deploying side by side. Best of ours, best fo yours, side by side, each
getting from the other something not initially found at home.
This being said, beer, bath, bed and good night all, Tay.:o
The hole should be for pressure equalizing on a hollow blade
but by Jove not drainage, Mylady! Think of it!
Drainage for what? Leaking lube or oil?
What engine will that prop be mounted on anyway?
Sorry for the gust, pray good night to you.
Good night all indeed, Tay.
Goody, Tango takes the upper hand.
@ EELightning
That’s fine by me, mate; i’ll think the same in reverse, LOL.
Actually, the biggest benefit might be in tight cooperation but
WITHOUT a complete merge thus allowing for use of each army
in conjunction within each’s specific area of expertise.
As someone pointed out, a carrier with F-35 AND Rafales would
almost be having fun out there on the blue fields of blue yonder.
@ Toocool12F
Go ahead, make any distracted mistake you want,; I’m just glad
you’re back among us, mec.
Besides, the message has to come across to our young friend.
Anyone remember the story about the spying Russians and Concorde.
The British Secret Service was worried about the U.S.S.R. sending
engineers to visit Aerospatiale,s plant while Concorde was online.
The French said thanks but we had caught on to that.
When the nice slavic people got there, The DGESE had the floors
swept and the metal shavings replace by ones made of metals that
were NOT part of the build.
The good KGB, err sorry, Tupolev guys proceeded to walk all over
the rooms, one each, and collect metal scraps with their lovely
crepe soles which was followedby the success everyone remembers!
Just a small story ( that I’ll deny having related, LOL ) to show that
industrial espionage is nothing new or unheard of.
Good night all.
To partially answer your last sentence, EELightning,
let me just say that i’m not sure in my nearing half-century
to have read quite as many comments about England being
our sister nation/likeminded/more trustworthy than the rest…
I guesss one can venture that the window of opportunity is
so wide open govt-to-govt that it has been squarely taken
off its hinges for the great Franco-British relations summer, LOL.
Also: qualify AASM, from 125 kg up, on Typhoon.
Brimstone on Rafale.
LMM & the joint Sea Skua successor on RN & MN helicopters.
BAe/Dassault put Mantis into production, with Brimstone, 125 kg AASM, & LMM, & either a joint sensor package, or a choice of sensors.

Oh! Yes, yes, yes!
Maybe the French could become small diameter bomb customers?
Don’t think so man!
I’m just saying ,cause the French forces have asked for the AASM
in the 125kg version in order to contain colateral damage and more
or less got told to aim better by the govt, LOL.
Good day all.
Griffon came out right on!
Your country owns a special stealthycrafts detecting radar
and when, for the first time, a stealth plane comes along,
you do not record that? Heck it may be your only chance
to use it ever, LOL.
Cold war radar station somewhere in the west : one guy
to the other : “Let’s turn it off and give them poor Russians
a chance.”
Seriously, it would have made a great song : “Give Russia a chance”
It could have been written by some Beatle and …………
….O.K, i’m outta here!
