Hi aschachter!
I just stumbled on your post.
I am in no way an expert so
i’ll limit myself to handing you
those links from my bank.
Hope you find something you like,

Good reading and good day.:)
LOL, Phelgan!
All sorts of strange things being uttered these days :
http://www.jameshasik.com/weblog/2010/03/index.html
Scroll down the page for an analysis on the F-35’s
possible termination of sorts.
Thought-provoking at least!:D
Darn, mate!
let me know when they put in an order for a 100 of them, after testing and ioc/foc, my guess is it will be a few years 2013-4
Here :
http://kuku.sawf.org/News/57807.aspx
and here :
http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/2009/05/14/326535/thales-close-to-aesa-production-deal-for-rafale.html
where they even say :
The company says production of its passive electronically scanned RBE2 will cease in 2011 for the Rafale, and any export sale would include the active array. “Now any customer demonstration is with an AESA,” says Jean-Marc Goujon, head of marketing and product policy for Thales Aerospace. “We are not afraid of any weakness in terms of reliability.”
SO?
Admitedly, that order which was accomplished by the signing of the
last batch of 60 Rafales in december is for 60 and not a hundred AESA
RBE2s but as Rafale is based on constant upgrade of all A/Cs in the
program, it means that the rest of the fleet will get them too.
The Rafale is growing … while some egress and regress.
Oh! And :
its rather nonsense, i’d say
,
we’ll see, won’t we?
Here’s another oldie but it gives equal ground to all,
including those whom may just be joining about Thales
in regard to the Rafale :

And here’s a guy with much to say :
http://www.jameshasik.com/weblog/2010/03/index.html
If you scroll down the page, you’ll find the piece on
terminating the F-35 that buzzes around the net!
Rather interesting, i’d say!
Good day all.
P.S. Whatever happened TO Al-Dhafra?:)
Sorry, i said 2013, they said 2012 :

Here is an oldish view of the situation that
sticks to most of what is known at present :
http://www.defpro.com/news/details/5144/
Will be back soon.:)
Let’s double that bet(ease)!
@jackjack :
OSF has had one channel ( pun intended ) to make better,
not “fix” and both are slated for upgrade. One such improvement
is on the IR sensor but do understand that, while Sofradir and
FLIR are busy developing a newer set of receptors it doesn’t
render the old one useless. It it part of the upgrade PROCESS!
DDG NG is to be upgraded.
Because “the threaths , they are a changin’ ” : sing along, guys.
Damoclès XF is slated for induction at next batch of Raffys. (2013+)
Rover is being installed as we write which is both late and normal as
our US comrades took their f.ck..g time delivering it. Pass the blame
Production delays are very URSS-like inasmuch as they are
decided by the State for its own reasons ( financial ).
AESA is under initial production and slated for induction at next batch.
Engines could already be on the plane but everyone is trying to get
most of the cost to be someone else’s burden. Integration by Dassault
is the part still unknown, under discussion on A-D for instance, lol.
But judging from recent training, tne engines are doing fine!
You may not believe me/us.
What is true fact will not change though; be warned!
Thank you dearly…
for such a fine display of sportsmanship
and hint of elegance, sir.

Actually, one can draw a straight line from the F-16 buy
to the US rebuke for the UAE’s need of long range weapons
to the buy of 60 M2000-9 with the Black Shaheen ( A slightly
down-ranged version of the Scalp/Storm Shadow. ) to the
exchange of those for Rafale with 9T engines and Meteor
in effect shifting the main air platform’s origins.
Some wonder about the small inclusions of the sawtooth
design. They go with VLO/stealth as they interrupt any
surface with enough smoothness and/or continuity to,
in effect again, break it into smaller pieces.
On LO Rafale, the use is broader though those in the
engines intakes are a nice touch.

After all, not everything is about RCS size.
Good day all.
This link to complement arthuro’s offering :
^^^^
I think that at last i found someone who reads the links.;)
Thank you Spitfire, as usual, for that which is almost as
great as the fact that, yes, the Rafale has it made now.
This is the “permission” that frees Lula. The FAB wants
its new planes and finally caught on to the danger of
losing everything.
Good day all.
Hey, Arthuro!
You forgot the link that explains why Jobim now
feels comfortable saying that.
I posted it in RAFALE- Cachorro…
Let me retrieve it for you.
There you go :

So nice!
Well put, missileer.
I agree wholeheartedly to those precisions about fora distinctions.
Would you please extend my gratitude to Mercurius for his intervention.
I had tried a PM at the time but it apparently never reached him.
Good next olde inn session to both of you.:)
To missileer,
even if i am not neutral in this matter, i would like to
congratulate you for your spotting abilities.
In truth, if you take out all the ungracious occurrences
from almost any forum, it usually dies of boredom and
neglect. This may explain that!
Good day all.
I’m not sure, toocool. Coming from an F-5 or an AMX,
the first flight should see a lot of teeth gritting amidst
the huffin’n’puffing!!!
They should get CédR to give them rides at first!:p
Well, at least the UK still has use for that nice looking efficient
aircraft.
Long life to the Nimrod!
One veteran you can count on and on.:)
