    Sorry AlphaZulu but…

could i beg for a link to what you said?

‘Cause all the info so far points to the F-22
vs Rafale dogfights to have been outside.

Nothing ever implied the same for the Typhie
    vs Rafale, AFAIK.

    BTW…again…

has anyone noticed how poor that UPI article is?

It compares the range of the SLAM to that of the
Exocet because it is derived from the Harpoon
when in fact for strikes against Iran ( implied in
land attack ) the “French” missile would be the Scalp?

    Just a non-specialist’s thought!

    Sure enough,

Cola, that remark reeks of validity, as my tone in
first finding and reporting on a similar problem in the
Rafale news IX thread ( post #193 ) showed.
However, it should have come with some answering
for the calls made so… i’ll hold my breath, LOL.

    Exactly mon tout-cool

The typhoon and the rafale are in competition whenever there is a market to take and I can’t believe for a second that the RAF would accept to go fight the rafale without doing its best to win the fight and, also, score points for a potential future market for a british fighter

See guys how the half-truth thing only makes sense
in this context when seen from a TYPH-AN point of view,
    no dissin’ intented!
It is akin to believing that the ADlA rep was standing by
the camels with the guy from Dubaï, watching the birds take-off
and upon noticing a Rafale losing one of its main landing gear
turns to him and slyly delivers “That’s OK! It happens sometimes.
We’ve brought spares aplenty!” and expects it to stick!

From what i’ve heard, someone has gone for precisions but
has not come back yet. I hope everything’s alwright for them,
those desert treks can be treacherous, sandstorms, lack of
water, lack of direction and all that.

So in temporary conclusion, the USA, UK, UAE, Pakistan and them
cumbersome Frewnch went to play in the sand and the French
came back saying : We pretty much won but for that big kid
with his invisible pail and shovel set against which we pretty
much didn’t loose, almost. The big kid answered that he was
happy with the fact that as usual he had trown sand in every
    everybody’s face ’til they thought he was a mirage ( LOL,LMAO )
expect maybe for the snotty little runt with the glasses. I.E.,
We pretty much won but for when we didn’t lose anyhow.

And the rest of the little friends are…………huh……………well,
    silently sulking?

I think i will pen this as a one-liner for people that bore me with
    uninteresting conversations :
And, what do YOU think happened in Al-Dhafra?

Heck, i’ll make myself the t-shirt!
    Who wants one?
    :p

    Answering…

SNAFU and Fedaykin, i have personally never said that
either the Typhoon was a lemon nor believed in the
total virgin’s innocence of “official” proclamations.

Just that THE MORE THE ADlA SUPPOSEDLY DEVIATED
from the truth, the more costly it would become.
Not being a kid anymore, having been in the military
myself, the same as Lt-Col. Grandclaudon, i understand
that for instance, a Lt-col can be asked to err a tad for
comm/sales/propaganda reasons at a lesser cost than
a full fledged general for instance; although following
such a line of reasoning, if they deviated a lot, we
would have gotten the low-down on Al-Dhafra from a
lowlier rank, say Staff-seargent such as i was, LOL.

In addition, those who follow and read the links,
should know that the same Lt-Col. Grandclaudon
was also the one that reported on Red Flag 08-04
as i have posted a while back as he was already boss
    of same squadron.

[That’s when the Rafale was “soaking up all the ‘trons
in the air” and not merging according to a similarly
ranked US airman in a vidconference.]

With all the half-of-reality squa…ndering he puts out,
you would expect someone to stand up and send him
    packing, wouldn’t you?

All puns apart, the sale seems to be proceding in view
of the recent news of weapons integration wishes by
the UAE so i will have to believe for now that the porkie
pies where seasoned enough for Arab taste………………
    😉

    BTW…

and i’ve said this before, to a disappeared legendary
poster earlier up this thread, how come no one with
the “The French are telling lies” position has
even bothered to think that : since such an exercise
as the Advanced Tactical Leadership Course uses
Awacs and ground based detection ( not withstanding
the possible satellite shoots since they won’t exchange
them or let us have a copy posted here ) in addition to
all the A/Cs electronics and cams, IF THE FRENCH
    have lied/misrepresented/embellished the truth……….
EVERY darn fu…ng one over there in the UAE now knows!

I do understand that some think that, we, French are so
dumb, ouch it must hurt! But to believe that our best
minds did not think of the consequences of such an act…
well, sorts of requires about the same in dumbness…?

Take your time; have a cold one or warm for our Brit
    buddies; think it over.

    What?

    Come on! Seriously???

Where is it stated that the Rafales has fought in a “degraded mode”?

Right here and for the Xth time :

    http://blog.francetv.fr/capitaine-romain/index.php/2009/12/19/158245-atlc-linterview-du-commandant-de-lescadron-de-chasse-01007-provence

    from here first :

    http://secretdefense.blogs.liberation.fr/defense/2009/12/carton-plein-pour-le-rafale-lors-dexercices-aux-emirats.html

    And there f..k :

En version dégradée, à quatre contre quatre, les Rafale ont réalisé des scores de 4 à 0 et de 3 à 1.

IN DEGRADED VERSION, four on four, the Rafale got scores of
4 to 0 and three to one.

No wonder these fora are so painfully boringly repetitious.

Personally, if i had the attention span of a squirrel with ADD
and on crack, i’d take notes!

    Sorry but really………

    Good day all anyway.

    Just a suggestion…

Why don’t you guys check the appropriate thread(s)?
What i mean is that if the “France/Dassault blockage”
hypothesis is valid, it should have come out first
    which i seem to remember.
    And contrary-wise….

In our line of “work”, dates are almost as important as
    content.

    Good evening all.

    Got that, Loke.

Clear picture indeed but…. i am a bit taken aback
by the timeline of events following a Raf sale to BR.

Is the brazilian industry up to par on the TOTAL manufacture
of such a plane? The industrial tool would have to be
set up in the period from signing to reception of say,
the third or fourth plane out of six built in France in order
    to take over production then!
Or the following planes could be assembled from parts
made in France until production begins locally.
And some parts will NOT be made in Brazil anyhow anyway!

In that view i have to join you about the “simplicity” of
    the Gripen deal.

In exchange, the French option means a growing experience
from integrator to builder to design. As many posters talked
about Brazil joining nEUROn team, one could venture a future
development of a sort not yet openly known or launched.

The deals are, we can agree, quite different and BR is
    staring at a crossroad.

In the meanwhile, the reported news of demand of SLAMs
by the UAE on their Rafales, if agreed to and done shows
one way for Brazil to get out of the headlock after signing
    that you refered to!

    We’ll see, buddy!

    Thnx, Danell.

    Hum! Interesting, isn’t it?
Will the source codes be in jeopardy?
Will it open integration of more U.S.
    stuff…..and wouldn’t that open export
    doors wide open?
    Thank you!

    Good day all.

    Very right, TGIF

    http://ca.movieposter.com/posters/archive/main/38/MPW-19401

Thanks mister Gilliam! Even the small headliner is
related to our subject : “It’s all about flights of fan…”.

And, Loke, i am confused about this :

The 2-3-4 country collaborations have not shown to be working very well in the past IMHO, and it will be even more of an issue in the future. A more open and flexible system is being called for.

    So a two-partners deal Swede-Brazil is viable…
but a France-Brazil one would not be?

I will however admit to the invalidity of a certain
    recent France-Ireland.
    😮
