    German company, civilian drone.

    A U.S. company produces a smaller ( 16 cms ) one too.
    Darpa has on-going research on them too and a French
    company has one in development.

    Good day all, Tay.

    P.S. 🙂 Hey ppp old mate!:cool:

    Sorry to intervene in a very British National subject
    but I wanted to ask, especially of GeoffB if :
    -it could be possible to use PofWs or some such to
    shorten Prince of Wales?

    By pure respect for the Uk and the Royal family?

    PoW has meant Prisoner of War for years, you know?:(

    Sorry for the interruption, good day all, Tay.

    @MrMalaya

    then I think Harfang (what does that mean again?)

    It means Snowy Owl, mate.

    But it really depends who you ask, lol.
    French military think of this :

    and Quebec province in Canada residents
    for whom it is their avian emblem think :

    Last MinDef report :

    Entre le 18 août 2011 06h00 et le 25 août 2011 06h00, la France a réalisé :

    – 96 sorties d’attaque au sol (Rafale Air, Mirage 2000-D, Mirage 2000-N et Mirage F1) ;
    – 32 sorties de reconnaissance (Rafale Air, ATL 2, drone Harfang) ;
    – 7 sorties de contrôle aérien (E3F) ;
    – 7 sorties de ravitaillement (C135) ;
    – 6 sorties pour le groupe aéromobile.

    En outre, depuis le 18 août, les frappes navales et aériennes françaises ont permis de neutraliser une trentaine d’objectifs, dont :

    – Plus d’une vingtaine de véhicules militaires et armements (chars, véhicules armés, pièces d’artillerie et lance-roquettes multiples) principalement dans les régions de Brega, et Tripoli ;
    – Une dizaine d’infrastructures militaires (bâtiments, postes militaires) principalement dans les régions de Brega et Tripoli.

    Depuis le 24 août, le commandement de la TF 473 est assuré par le contre-amiral Dupuis qui a succédé au contre-amiral Coindreau. Au cours de cette semaine, la frégate Chevalier Paul a été relevée par la frégate La Fayette.

    Par ailleurs, un drone Harfang a été déployé sur la base aérienne de Sigonella où 5 avions Rafale de l’armée de l’air sont déjà en place. Le drone a effectué sa première mission opérationnelle au profit de la coalition le 24 août.

    Or, Tay trans. :

    Between the 18th of August 2011 06h00 and the 25th of August 2011 06h00,
    France has achieved :

    -96 ground attack missions ( Rafale [AdlA], Mirage 2000-D, Mirage 2000N
    and Mirage F1 )
    -32 recon missions ( Rafale [AdlA], Atlantique 2, Harfang drone )
    -7 Aerial Command and control missions ( E3-F )
    -7 Refueling missions ( C-135 )
    -6 missions for the helos.

    Specifically, in that period, the Navy and Air French strikes have neutralized
    about 30 targets amongst which :

    -more than 20 military vehicles ( tanks, armed vehicles, artillery weapons and Rocket launching platforms ) mostly in the Brega and Tripoli zones;
    – about 10 military infrastructures ( buildings and outposts ) same zones.

    Since the 24th of August, Commodore Dupuis took over command of Task Force 473 from Commodore Coindreau. During that same week, The Frigate Chevalier-Paul was relieved by the Frigate La Fayette.

    In that period, a Harfang drone was dispatched on the Italian base of Sigonella where 5 Rafle from the AdlA were already located. The drone
    made its first operational outing for the coalition on the 24th of August.

    🙂 good day all, Tay.

    LOL

    Even away on”shoreleave”,
    not much new, LMAO :

    failed cause the salesmen didn’t switch on the klingon button,

    but its limited due to the size of the Rafale’s nose.

    So nothing I guess, huh? 😉

    Good day all. Tay.

    Echelon is in a class apart as a tool of that trade, kilo,
    but it still is not aviation related in any particular way!

    @redreidy
    on your comment to SNORKUR,
    with even urban warfare added to strategic considerations already,
    one could still dream of a new ground attack/control plane, maybe?
    I hate the Harrier drop!:mad:

    Good night all, Tay.

    Ordering in 5 years will get us delivery when?

    Most likely, just about when proper production hits full speed!

    Thank you Idiot for that find!

    I’ll only add that the Harrier
    Will be remembered by me
    As representing so perfectly,
    The tenacious oblivious Terrier,
    Both of which Britain proud should be!

    Kudos!

    Good day all, Tay!

    “Combat Proven poster”

    One advantage that the Rafale has over the other types mentioned
    as carrying same assortment of gear is that ALL Raffys can carry ALL
    weapons ( save tha ASMP-A nuclear stand-off missile which for policy
    reasons was asked to be deployed only on Rafale B ) whereas the others
    have types/blocks/adaptation work for given weapons! 🙂
    Check it out!

    I’m sorry to call the zombies back out but you’ll get this Omnirole
    “thang” in the end, promised! 😉 🙂

    Good night gang, Tay.

    ^^^^^^^

    ESM detects, identifies and maybe disrupts!

    ELINT gathers, decodes and brings back!

    Also, differences are very often subtile as
    such systems are often plane dedicated?

    I.E., there is no Growler F-15!

    So veryyyy hard to judge when not in the trade!

    Good day all, Tay
