Thanks Trumper and ErrolC, I knew about court case but I thought that perhaps the plug had been pulled on the company. Pleased to hear that this is not the case and they’re still going
What happened to Peter Jackson’s TVAL?, I hadn’t heard anything about that. What a great pity.
Ok cheers
“sold straight after tests flights I think “
Do you mean that it’s already sold or was that when the current vendor bought it?
Hasn’t been in the UK for a while now as far as I know.
Ah great I wondered what had happened to it when I tried to log into it. Thank you
If it’s the joy riding one that you put the link to, you have got the reg number a bit transposed
Just watched the programme, it was very interesting and in fairness it promoted what a great effort the Dutch government and the people put in to recover the missing aircrew of these second world war aircraft. I think the title of the programme was misleading purely to draw the public in.
In fairness Guy Martin made no pretence of being anything other than an observer and narrator.
NewQldSpitty, I am pretty sure that Arcayne means Oaksey Park, a short distance from Kemble.
Arcayne thanks for the update, I wondered what had happened to her. Very interesting.
That is really fantastic, thank you for posting it
Thanks Mark, that sounds a reasonable assumption regarding the Gipsy Majors and thanks avion ancien, I am presuming that it was going to be a non flying replica. Guessing it never came off as in one of the posts it mentioned that Geoff was 61 then so that would make him 77 now and it would be s massive undertaking for one man.
I have got the red covered instruction manual of the dh86 which I picked up a few years ago, I unfortunately missed out on a few more dh manuals from the same place but I am really chuffed that I managed to get the dh86 one.I wonder how many Gipsy Major engined one’s were built. I hadn’t heard about Geoff Reichelts’s full scale replica, where abouts was this one being built avion ancien?
Maybe worth contacting Tom Gilbert at Enstone as Steve his late father had a Bristol Freighter, so there’s a possibility he may have something
Great news if it comes to fruition.
Only just looked at this thread and was intrigued to hear that he was from Hereford. Interested to know what exhibition flight and what company that was. Also was he related to the Snells from Kingsthorn ,Herefordshire?. My interest is purely from a local history point. Thanks
