    Eddie, what an astute question!

    Of course! 360° of view. And all of it waterfront property (at low tide)

    Steve, surely you’re not the drunk from St Ives of limerick fame?????????

    I have other photos of the current check point and the wall if you were interested.
    Really interested, so don’t answer out of misguided politeness!!!!

    And curiosity compells me to ask, what came first, the grounding, or the misfit?

    (All questions solely for the historical archive) And if you believe that, then I have some property for sale at an excellent price, just 10 miles south of where we live.
    😀 😀 😀

    yes, that’s what it said in the above page;

    TG503 at the Allied Museum Berlin. One of the aircraft used to airlift supplies to Berlin during the Soviet blockade in 1948-49. The aircraft was refurbished by Royal Airforce personnel in May 1998 and donated to the Allied Museum in Berlin-Zehlendorf.

    All the mysteries solved. You chaps may have the rest of the day/evening off!

    Thanks

    I could be wrong for the first time today (1300Z = 9:00 AM EDST), but this was at the American Forces Museum, in the “high rent” suburban section of Berlin, where they had the actual Checkpoint Charlie guardhouse and a display of the underground wiretapping and photographs in another building. This area was never an airport and the “Hastings” is the only aircraft on display.

    ‘Tis quite a while since I was a “Junior” anything!

    No. it was locked up tight. Not even any scaffolding to take a peek inside.
