Perhaps COA or Boeing could counter-sue for damage to the plane…:diablo:
Was an AS332L2, the feeling is some sort of catastrophic mechanical failure.
Dreadful tragedy, half the men lost came from Aberdeen or surrounds.
Heli movements down the years are “ten-a-penny” here, not a day goes by when you don’t hear or see them.
But tragedies like this brings it home that it’s dangerous work & that won’t change.
Worse that it was only 6wks ago that we all breathed a huge sigh of relief, only for the fatal Newfoundland crash, now this one yesterday.
But the heli is the best mode of transport, all you can do is make it the safest you can – but machines can & do fail, & sometimes catastrophically.
Bond did not fly today, & BP are using other operators – but I think flights will resume in the days ahead. BP have not withdrawn the contract permanently.
Hard to tell which is the bigger circus….. Should throw Airtran jobsworths to the lions.
So smoking REALLY CAN damage your health!
Who picks up the tab? 😀
95% of stats are made up on the spot…& the other 10% aren’t much better! 😀
So Concorde v Koncordski…which one was faster???
Ryanair….the DFS of the airline world.
Deals that aren’t what they seem. Allegedly. 😀
Watch it Renfrew!!! :dev2:
Their “manoeuvres” started about 0330hrs, yet police decided on the softly softly approach rather than turn the water cannons or machine guns on them…pity.
One came from the area, the rest had travelled up from the Central Belt. They must have been recently paid their giros….
They obviously had no sense, as they blocked the easternmost heli taxiway, only used by Bond & the occasional fixed wing movement. Had they known where the main runway was & blocked that, then the delays could have been worse. So much for their planning!
However they DID delay an Ambulance flight, & that is particularly Plane Stupid.
I think the “Ninny Nine” appeared in Court yesterday.
A PS protestor was the one that slimed the slimeball Mandelson. So they’re not all bad then! 😀
Does look as if bmi R has a future, given that it’s taking over the ABZ-BHX route (from Baby) + ABZ-LHR (from Mainline).
Thought I read bmi R was due more Embraers from withdrawn Flybe stock, or are the reduction of routes elsewhere ensuring the existing fleet is sufficient?
The geese were very convincing…
Probably turned up in their 15yr old camper vans did they? Belching fumes along the way…spouting more polluting hot air with their crap.
If yer name’s Eastern Airways & you operate J41s, then you can do it too!:)
Perhaps time could have been saved had they just escorted Mr Pincus off.
Sheesh!
Unscramble the following:
5RA1AE
:diablo:
So where do they fly to then? And does anyone see them land at their destination? 😀
When’s the last time something allegedly went missing in the Bermuda Tria
