I just use the developments of the F16 and also did an analysis of the wings. Since the structure is almost identical to the F16 and the size also differs not much the optimum is almost or proaba;y same as F16…. Not a difficult thing to understand. The F16a had that same wingchange…

I think that journalism is at the end of the flexibility. They have no idea about politics or technical facts. And it is no wonder that India and Pakistan are busy with miisiles from nuclear armed, SAM and AAM… India is open in that. But there are no restruictions for them and they allways get the job done cause of the dollars. Pakistan has been fooled many times and now does play it very secret. It needs that. Nothing wrong with defending their nation.

US is never open about their most secret projects. Just see thesde missiles as most secret projects for Pakistan.

I know… It sounds stupid. I admit. But the Ef200 started with double tail… And there is something with vortices generated by canards making troubles for double tails… Even singe tails have that problem but less.. That is why Gripen and Rafale have that strange wing just behind the canards. And that is why the FA18 had that strange vertical wing on their leading wing… Maybe you are still smiling but i think this should do…:D

Double tails with canards are not allways success…

Well if we see continously FC1 being compared with F16 block 15 till block 60 then why not compare the LCA with Mirage 2000-5

Both planes are in the beginning. If we can laugh at Fc1 versus F16 then we can do the same with LCA versus Mirage 2000-5

    Pipe back to you Mavaustin.

Since the LCA is going to replace a lot of mig21’s (with decent BVR) we can say that BVR is certain but the numbers will be lower if a lot of high tech will be incorporated. It is not like FC1 a plug and play machine but more sophisticated apparatus. It has no export options yet. So price is depending on the number of plane ordered by IAF and the quality components. But since it looks a lot like a mirage 2000 (When can we compare those two planes!!!!!) I am wondering how Dassault would react since it is delivering mirage 2000 H (and probably -5) to India… Anyway a delta is handy weapon carrier. Just look at the weapons on EF2000, Gripen or Rafale… I am waiting ages for th eLCA in grey colours like the MKI… WOuld make a lot of impact. But yes… What is the damn price?

The B2 or F117 did not replace all the less advanced aircrafts… F22 is great or even superb but damn expensive.

Not to flame but I would also add the LCA cause it is probably in the same class. If not then I would like to know why not.

About the planes given. Mig29 newer verions are great. The F16 is a tested plane. And the FC1 is cheap. If I have to go for a medium or low end plane then the FC1 will to the job fine. It is BVR, cheap and easy to upgrade. One can put in whatever is in the budget. The mig29 and F16 are a bit higher in the ranking. But the political arena is more dangerous. One problem with the US or Russia is end of the deal. The FC1 is probably delivered with TOT just liek K8 to Egypt. And the avionics are at own cost… Changable and as cheap as possibble. For a high end… There is nothing better then the F16. Single engine, very agile and used by top forces around the world including US and Israel… The latest Israeli version is a beauty…
