Controversy is not the right word. You are using the LCA as your example. Let us take the FC1 which has she same development. The politics decided that it was not important cause Pakistan would get the F16. After decades the restarted it and not it is a design of the Mig company which is modelled by China with help from Russia. The engine is Russian and in the end the avionics for Pakistan will be probably from France and Italy. Should we say that it is a success? It is. But compared to the tech we are seing in the west it is just a good start. We should not fill 75% of the topics about these two nations poor man’s plane while when we start benchmarking they will not even end up in the middle. I do not think that I ofefnded the Indians. The LCA is going to replace the hundreds of mig21 and it is not a bad chioce or plane but just like the FC1 it is not that good. It’s like in a car forum talking about the Lada and Fiat while we all know that the topis somewhere else. It is not to flame. The Indians have many other very potential planes (take the MKI or Mirage2000) so offending them is not very easy. And compared to their neighbour they haev more money, more soldiers, more quality. The only thing they haev some kind of probelm with are the nukes and missiles.
Looking to the China part… It is same problem as Pakistan has with India. And that flaming is the result of propaganda used on both sides. How come that outside those nations these people can live next to eachother? In Pakistan the army needs fear to stay in power (and the politicians need some education cause robbing the nation that openly is something to be ashamed of) and the Indian politicans to move the attention from other matters. Looking at the past weeks there seems to be a change of winds. Glad to see that. China, India and Pakistan are developing nations whith huge market potential. The next generation of the asian tigers. War or propaganda is just a waste. It will only make a third party (west/US) happier. Just like the Iranians were butchered by their US sponsored neighbour these three nations are put against eachother. The past was bad thanks to the Brittish occupation. The split up was the result of the UK divide and conquer strategy. The persent was bad thanks to the military, corrupt politicians and nationalistic leaders. I hope the best for the future.
