Interesting…..

It is consistent with semi-official stuff floating around. That engine arrangement allows for much bigger/deeper weapons-bay.

Algerian Su-30MKA in a sharp turn. Anybody knows what’s under the left wing? KAB-1500Kr, maybe?

Seems to be KAB-1500Kr, though the nose seems a bit too long for it (Link1, Link2). Doesn’t seem the to be the kh-29, kh-59 or KAB-500kr either.

It’s a Su-30MKK, little to no equipment of Chinese origin has been observed on those. I agree that it is hard to tell what we’re looking at though, could be anything really.

For the Su-27SK, Su-30MKK/MK2 its actually “No Equipment”. And even the J-11/J-11A. Thats why they are going with J-11B/BS planes.

On the MKK its DEFINITELY a Russian pod.

Recent news suggested that an “optimized” version (Z-10A?) is under developemnt and it could eventually enterthe mass production. This version has a reduced weight and is powered by the indigenous WZ-9 engine.

I want to see an S-300V replacement for the Russian Army. Absent that, they should commence procurement of the S-300VM / ‘Antey-2500’.

Incidentally, the Buk-M3 was supposed to appear this year, according to reports from 2007. Wonder if we’ll see it.

What new with the Buk-M3 compared to M1-2/M2?

Must say I find the whole thermo-nuke issue quite surprising….

If the 1998 thermonuclear test didn’t go as planned, why didn’t they test again? US already declared sanctions after the initial announcement. India had nothing really to lose by testing again and making sure the they sorted out whatever problems….:confused: Sanctions were lifted in 2001 and warming of relations.

Forgive me for being naive…but got me wondering
