But not even a hint what type of missile ?? Air launches, coastal defence, ship-to-ship ???
My WAG would be for the Kilo SSK. Maybe improved Klub variant? Again, just a WAG.
Su-35
Su-35 unless the MiG-35 price is considerably lower.
By the way, can the MiG-35 supercruise?
no ejection seat like the Hokum?
Nope.
should we start at f-22 or YF-22, which would be 1990? (wow 13 years from prototype to full version)
*YF-22
1990 (ATF fly-off)
*F-22
1997 (1st EMD #4001)
2003 (1st Production version)
2005 (IOC)
I would say we should to start from F-22 EMD. Right now, the US is the only one who can have afford to have a competition between actual flying competing prototypes (YF-16 & YF-17, YF-22 & YF-23, X-32 & X-35). There was no flying prototype battle between SAC and CAC. After all the wind-tunnel, RCS, etc test results; the SAC proposal was rejected. J-20 starts from there. I guess you could say the YF-22 equivalent would be the J-20 #2001 and F-22 prototype 4001 equivalent would be J-20 #2011. J-20 has not yet reached IOC.
Everyone jumps the gun a bit on declaring operational. No big deal
Russia doesn’t seem to be jumping the gun with the Pak Fa tho
Really?
Lets see who is jumping the gun,
PAK-FA demoed at the MAKS 2011. Full 8min demo. First flight was made on the January 29, 2010
J-20 had a short fly by at Zhuhai November 2016. First flight was on January 11, 2011
F-22 first public appearance was 2003 Edwards open house. First full demo 2007. First flight 7 September 1997.
You are forgetting the PAK-FA suffered serious setback with the 055 fire. If it wasn’t for that who knows how fast they would induct the PAK-FA.
They say that the J 20 is in active service. The radar testing says otherwise.
This is an old photo released recently. That plane WAS used as a testbed for radar, EW and other avionics. That phase was completed prior to the induction of the LRIP aircraft.
does MIG29OVT has canards? when it appeared. there certain things you missed it.
MiG-29OVT is not relevant to the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) and the PLAAF. PLAAF does not operate nor will they operate any MiG-29 variant. What is relevant is the Su-35S. Su-37, Su-30SM/MKI/MKM/MKA all have canards but the Su-35S does not, yet its maneuverability at least equal to them while having the same TVC system. MiG-29OVT has all-aspect (360′) 3D TVC. Su-35S TVC system is simpler.
On the other hand, the Chinese aircraft Corporation that has connections to RSK MiG is Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC) :eagerness:
The pics quantumFX posted.
Allright. wonder if we will see an adoptation of the Su-35S, like no dorsal airbreak and so on.
They are still producing the J-11B?
There were several hints at what interests Shenyang Aircraft Corporation (SAC) about the Su-35S.
1: Removal of the dorsal air-brake and using the rudders instead.
2: Removal of the Canards and TVC integration. Su-35S despite the not having canards is equal or better in maneuverability compared to Su-30SM.
Edit:
It is unlikely to be targeted at the J-11B. Probably for future versions of J-11, J-16, and maybe J-15.
This better not be someone’s PS-job! 😡
If it is real, the camo is pretty weird. Looks more like an aggressor paint scheme like the Su-30MKK had but with different colors
Thought I’ll have some fun! 😀
I use the following –

Looks like Xianglong (Soaring Dragon II) UAV has officially entered service. Serial production had begun in 2015.

remember the good old days? 😉
whats this?

Red Sword 2016, biggest air exercise in PLAAF history?
J-11B is armed with the PL-15 LRAAM and J-10B are equipped with KG600 ECM pods
