I remember the MiG 1.44/1.42 was being called the “Raptor Killer” by the fanbois in the mid/late-90s. Armed with plasma-stealth, it’ll absolutely destroy the Raptor.

Not sure whether the MiG-29 is over-hyped, but it is a bit of an odd ball. Soviets had heavy long ranged fighters and interceptors in the Su-27 and MiG-31 but what role does the MiG-29 play? It should have been a MiG-21 replacement. Relatively cheap single engined fighter that can be produced in large quantities. MiG had projects like Ye-8, Project 33, etc, but the MiG-29 turned out to be a not so cheap medium sized flanker? :confused::confused:

What makes you think this is an export specific version? Just curious.

Unlike like the J-20 reveal and few others, Zhuhai is an export show. This is why you don’t see PL-12 on that display. Display is for the SD-10A. The CM-302 is a another example. YJ-12A in the PLAN is not for sale. This is especially true for cruise and ballistic missiles also rockets. All of them are downgraded especially range not exceeding 300 km. Remember prior to the appearance of the PL-10, the PL-9C was for sale but not the PL-8B in the PLAAF.

I don’t think that’s a mockup of the J-20. Nose geometry looks different and the J-20 doesn’t have an EOS on the nose.

True. The dimensions are too small. The location of the IRST is odd. This is probably a generic systems display. Showing the IRST input on the the displays etc. Though some of the components could be headed for future J-10 (J-10D?) and JF-17.

Radar plate showed in J-20 maquette doesn’t occuy all possible space, maybe a rotating arrangement like the Gripen E one?

FC-1 exports: 100 and another 100 to come. sure its all exported to one air force but far more than the below ones
Gripen: many countries but total, under 50. lease don’t count
Rafale: 66
super hornet: 24

also FC-1 is being built for Azerbaijan and Sudan.
