Come on people, Byoin is clearly a straight out 100% troll. It took me about one or two of his posts to add him to ignore – a new record. Do the same and everyone will be so much more happy. 🙂
Now, lets try to make a list of things Russia/Ukraine was been very heavily involved in/straight out designed for China in more recent history;
– Y-20, Antonov designed. From 2003 and on.
– Z-10, Kamov designed.
– L-15, clearly designed with Yakovlev assistance or like the two above they did the did basically all the work.
Speculative;– J-20 might have ex-MiG workers working on it.
– Chinese “Su-34” (dont remember designation) did wind tunnel work in Russia few years back. Or Russian aerodynamics experts in China, something along these lines.
– T-10K-7 bought from Ukraine was basis for J-15, including its “bugs”.Obviously there isnt lack of Chinese airframes using Russian engines (including J-20) but this list is more on frame design than having subcomponents sold.
Also, new Chinese bomber “announcement”;

Far from a coincidence on that timing, just as J-20 roll out wasnt one.
You can add FC-1 to that list. When the American support stopped CAC looked else where and got help from MiG: They used the MiG “Project/Product 33” – http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,1249.30.html. Notice the LERX design. During the early days of the J-10 SibNIA provided some scientific guidance.
keep in mind that i’ve been saying the whole time all along.
It is the Russians making the claims and their fanboys (most of which are Russian wannabes in this page) are just eating whatever the Russian industry says.
If we believe the Russian industry, then they are behind every single project in Chinese aviation lol.Note that not one person in the Chinese side confirms Russian involvement beyond Engine testing. Its a case of sourgrapes and bitterness.
really bad attitude from supposed allies.
Russian fanbois does not equal Russia as a nation especially the professionals working with PRC. Kamov didn’t release any info until last year. Thats nearly twenty years, since the initial draft which was said to be 1995-96 period. They were most likely under NDA. But it is perfectly legal to release info once NDA if lifted. And this is not some unauthorized copying done by Shenyang. CAC, CAIC, HAIG has actual LEGAL cooperation with multiple Russian companies. Legal business-to-business cooperation. The Z-10 was designed specifically for Chinese need. Z-10 was a departure from the usual helicopters Kamov designed. Kamov is known for co-axial, heavy duty helos like the Ka-50/52 and other co-axial helos like Ka-27, Ka-31, etc.
Do you even remember the $h!++y state the PLAAF was prior to 1991? Now in 2016, just look how far the PLAAF, PLAN, PLA has come. Thats less than 30 years. Almost miraculous. How long did you think other nations took to get to that level. Just compare the IAF vs PLAAF back in 1990 or even PLAAF vs IraqAF. For them to achieve this they would have had to use every trick in the book, including getting legal technical assistance from countries willing to provide it (as well as not so legal methods), coupled with indigenous now-how.

thats interesting
z-10 = assistance from kamov
y-20 = assistance from antonov
j-20 = maybe from mig as we all thought
…
Kamov was probably under NDA and likely the same with Antonov and thats why (at least in Kamov’s case), it took such a long time for an official release from Kamov. So if there is an NDA on MiG, the moments it is lifted we will know for sure whether there actually was cooperation on the J-20.
…
some interesting news at the end where shenyang admits to corruption and bribes, affecting to poor quality and unfinished RD. leading to need to keep importing from Russia and espionage on US
There are rumors of how unhappy the PLAAF and PLAN are with Shenyang. Recent rumors suggest the PLAAF and PLAN are no longer interested in the J-31 and its marketed only as FC-31. Meaning it is only an export projects. Shenyang is known to bully its way around due to high connections. It bullied its way in to the J-20 program as a subcontractor after handsomely losing the J-XX proposal.

This is from the same guy who broke the An-178 ballast-weight-problem story.
An-225 might be re-starting with PRC backing too…

More PLAAF JL-10:

Few more J-20 LRIP. At least 2 confirmed. Rumored to be up to 4? :confused:

First JL-10 in PLAAF service:

Yoda not happy with you bois messing with compressor blades…
…….

The simple fact that the Russians and Chinese are fully committed to their respective national projects (Sukhoi T-50 and CAC J-20) shows that 5th generation fighters are not a complete waste. The Indians and Japanese also have their own programs too (AMCA and Mitsubishi X-2/F-3).
nah…F-22 hasnt done squat for USAF beside costing money so that definitely disproves your point
Maybe so, but something like F-22 can also be considered a deterrent. The plane gives such overwhelming air-dominance that potential adversaries would think many times before going up against it.
Similar but extreme example would be nuclear-weapons. None have been used since 1945. All LGM-30, UGM-133, etc have been lying there for decades.
IMO is there is someone that should know what makes a good war plane, it would be Yeager. In the last few days he has come out and stated both the F-22, and the F-35 are a big waste of money since they both fall short of the job at hand.
Where is your source?
