Technically I have also forgotten the Su-35 (Su-27M). Which was, again, KnAAZ, right?

    Yes. Su-35/37 were from KnAAPO.

Aww common it was funny? I don’t even get a joke about my pedigree? No jokes about NOW you know why my grammer is so bad?

Sir, I am sure you are a guy with a high IQ and many talents but Jokes/Comedy is clearly not one of those talents. :eagerness: :stupid:

On more serious note, what can they farm from an Su-35,

Well the one with serious value would be AL-41F1S. Not just the turbofan itself but how the TVC is integrated to the system. So far I have not seen a single Chinese flying engine with TVC. There are hundreds of homemade WS-9, WS-10 (and variants) with thrust and quality improving, thousands of older Turbojets also flying but a not a single flying TVC prototype. The only test reported AFAIK are ground test. So I think the most valuable parts would be the AL-41F1S and the TVC implementation, FBW integration etc.

Other parts I don’t think, have much value. Remember this is an export version. It won’t have any super-secret EW system. Su-35 doesn’t even have an AESA unlike the T-50.

So, those are my 2 Rupees.

F-22 engines are very overweight that’s why the plane is heavy with tiny fuel capacity.

On paper the French one seems the biggest and baddest, but then again I am no expert, heck not even a novice.

    Jonesy we need your wisdom!

I guess it could be done in theory, but there are trade-offs. In its current configuration the Ka-52 combines a devastating punch (the 2A42 gun is by far the most powerful on any modern attack helo bar the Mi-28, which has the same weapon) with excellent accuracy. With a turreted gun, you’d gain a much greater firing envelope, similar to Western attack helos, but loose either the accuracy (due to lower mounting rigidity to cope with the immense recoil if you kept the 2A42, see Mi-28 or even Tiger HAD) or the fire power (going for a less powerful gun). Additionally, thanks to its unique co-axial configuration which enables much faster pedal turns in a hover than with a conventional attack helo, the real-world benefit of a gun turret is likely lower on the Ka-52 than it would ordinarily be – why incur the complexity of being able to turn the gun independently when you can turn the entire helo almost as fast?

It’s basically a question of what your concept of operations for an attack helo intends the gun to be for – do you require a serious anti-armour capability or is it to be used against soft targets only? If the former, the semi-rigid mounting with 2A42 is probably the answer, if the latter a lighter (even 20mm as on the AH-1Z should do fine) gun, but in a turret, will suffice. In that regard the Ka-52 is a more consistent and logical design than the Mi-28.

Thanks for that insight. Yeah, I guess its a trade-off.

Is there anyway to add/modify the Ka-52 with a movable gun mounting like the AH-64, Mi-28 and pretty much all major attack helos? IIRC, the Ka-52 was not considered by the IAF due to its gun limitation an final competition was between the AH-64E & Mi-28N which the AH-64E ultimately won.

Missile without forward fins is for preventing accidental launch? Have seen that on the French and Indian too.

From what I know, the blue ones have fully functional seekers but no fuel and warhead.

White colored dummies are new. In the previous generation the dummies were red.

This is a major WTF! So far only J-10B has been fitted with WS-10. For the 1st time, one of the very 1st J-10 prototype (1004) has been refitted with a WS-10. Whats actually going on? No one knows
