Some new additions compared to 2009 parade:
Type-99A
HJ-10 ATGM
HQ-10
YJ-12
DF-16
DF-21D ASBM
DF-26
DF-5B
KJ-500
H-6K
J-15
EDIT:
Notable absentees, J-10B, DF-31B, DF-41, but to be fair the announcers stated only in-service equipment would be displayed
Currently J-20 must be nicely under-powered and remember it lacks TVC. So it won’t come anywhere near the T-50 and F-22 as well as the Su-35 and Su-30SM/MKI/MKM/MKA. WS-15 demonstrator was supposed to have been tested at 16,500 kgf while the production version will be 18,000 kgf. Regarding TVC, its unlikely that it won’t have TVC, but we will have to wait and see.
Not much footage is available. Here are just a few glimpses, but nothing much to see:

Now that made my day! Thank you! Meeeeeeyaaaoooowww!!!
Well, the Su-35S has a 6% larger airintakes.. i might have an impact on top speed, it might not..
I heard that the max speed drop was due to some intake modifications to reduce RCS, including some panels/ducts along with huge amounts of RAM….??? Just rumor though.
is it the military expense that imposes financial difficulty in Sri Lanka ?
Actually it is a combination of, it 30 years of war, curruption & mismanagement. Heavy increase in military expenditure from 2006 to 2009 was justified since there was a bloody war. But the former Secretary of Defense explained the defense budget could not be reduced much due most weapons bought on loan/credit. We are still paying for equipment bought many many years ago. So whats the point in buying 12 – 14 JF-17 on credit during peacetime?
Here is a news piece from a local independent news paper “Daily Mirror” online – Sri Lanka to purchase new fighter-jets?
Despite foreign media reports that claim Sri Lanka will be the first foreign buyer of the multi-role combat aircraft JF-17 Thunder, Sri Lanka Air Force says no decision has been made yet with regard to the procurement of the fighter jet.
Air Force Spokesperson, Wing Commander Gihan Senevirathne speaking to Daily Mirror said although both Pakistan and China have indicated the availability of the fighter jet and proposals have been submitted on the availability of the aircrafts, SLA has not made any decision on purchasing them.
As a Sri Lankan, I really, hope this deal does not go through. If by some tragedy it does, the resposible political party will really face the music at election time.
Well he played a pretty hard balancing act for sure. BTW, is the SL Army remaining at the huge prewar mobilized level or are there efforts to downscale it now that the threat has passed (supposedly)
Well, according to the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) the military presence was very high post war (even end of 2014). But naturally Rajapakse regime denied this. Since the new President came in thing are changing. Land used by the military is now steadily being returned back to its owners. TNA said though many problems remain, thing are actually looking positive. This year for the 1st time, families of fallen LTTE combatants were allowed to openly mourn/remember their loved ones. Prior to 2009 it was possible only in LTTE controlled areas and since 2009 it wasn’t allowed at all anywhere. That changed in 2015.
Not a bad deal at all. This is the future of the PAF if they commit to it, the IAF will be very interested and I bet Sri Lanka will get a lot in return elsewhere (economically etc).
BTW, heard that even in Rajapakse’s time, certain advisors played a significant role in planning ops against a rather hostile insurgent force. Heard anything of that?
Oh yes. There were plenty of *ehem* advisors operating 😉 Problem for the Rajapakse’s post 2009 war was that there was only one country that could econmically save SL. India & Japan provided loans & aid but it wasn’t enough since we are in a monetary cluster-#$#$. US & EU were not at all capable or willing to provide financial support. Only China could save our @$$es. But leaning closer to China led to the Rajapakse’s demise. There is a parliamentary elecection coming up. So until then there will be some breathing space but after that there will be austerity measures. Time to tighten the belts.
It’d be perfect if the Sri Lankans buy JF-17s. The IAF can get a close look at them, inside out given how closely the Indian military is linked into the SL establishment in recent years.
You are right about that, especially since January 8th. Indian military intelligence will get a nice close look at the JF-17 as well as weapons like SD-10.
neither…..
We are broke right now. Financially $h!+ will hit the fan in the coming month
2 J-20 P2013 videos I saw at SDF a few days back: What going on here? Is it a display for a VVIP or are they getting ready for an Airshow or some public display?

Deino, do we have an estimate of the dimensions of the PL-10? I suppose there are people who have already compared its length with the J-20 to provide estimates.
Off-course there are no official values IIRC, but you can estimate the dimensions from this dummy PL-10 (formerly PL-ASR?) in the following pics:
