Don’t have access to the article but,

    One word “Engines“!

Not just fighters like J-20, J-10B but transport planes like Y-20 still use Russian engines. Commercial Aircraft like ARJ21, C919 will use GE & CFM Int engines. While the Russians have Aviadvigatel engines for Il-96, Tu-204 as an alternative plus future Il-76/A-50 will use PS-90 and so on.

Don’t forget the J-15 prototypes that have landed on Liaoning (16) are all powered by AL-31F. I have yet to see the single WS-10 powered J-15 (554) land on the Liaoning with WS-10 (it seems the engines can be swapped).

So until China becomes self-sufficient in high performance turbofans I would not say they have surpassed the Russians.

Meteor is very poorly funded project with very miniumum production rates spread over decades. It is likely to be obsolete by this time.
TVC is fundamental to nose pointing ability of fighters to shoot down incoming missiles with gun.
its the installed thrust matter and only several ton heavy external jammers makes a difference otherwise look at the spine and tail stinger of Su-34.

lol, its basically f22 derivative vs f23 derivative.
what is up with east asian aviation and their lack of originality.
at least russia has something unique looking

There is another version 25DMU that is probably a Tail-less delta.

Is the final thing going look like the above or will they have a fly-off of different variants? (23DMU, 24DMU & rumored 25DMU)

People, any leaks on what this thing might look like? I remember the PAK-FA had these early leaks (Image-1, Image-1) that turned out to be fairly close to the real thing.

I dont think so. The Higgs Boson particle was not understood, the theory/ maths said it was there, so it was created and explained by science. We do not know everything, we never will, but we have come this far because we want to.

Correct. Einstein dismissed black-holes predicted by his own theory as a mathematical product and not something that existed in the real world. But thats not the case today.

Scientific knowledge constantly evolves. Thats the beauty of it. What we consider science-fact today can be fallacy tomorrow. I mean thats the really fun part about science. That constant learning process, I loved math & science since I was a little kid.

A good Scientific theory is one that can be proven wrong!

New MMPP Salyut AL-31FN ‘Series 3’ engines for China feature a 1T thrust increase as per contract stipulation:

    http://www.salut.ru/ViewTopic.php?Id=2187

Chinese press claims ‘consultancy’ may be sought for the J-20’s engines, and was the subject of a recent high-level delegation visit:

    Me thinks they’re after the 15T AL-31F-M3.

Me thinks you are right. I think flateric said they are also quite interested in a 3D-TVC AL-31F (M2/3?) for the J-20.

PS: J-10B just entered service and is said to have a “higher thrust” AL-31FN. Any idea whether its the AL-31FN-M1 or M2?

Buddhists (especially in my country) have converted Buddha/Buddhism into a traditional religion. Its much more convenient to go to temple, worship in hopes of merits (opposite of sins) and expect goodies. Much easier to worship lord Buddha in the belief something good or nice will happen. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that in Buddhism. It is your behavior that counts. Saving even an ants life out of genuine compassion is far superior in Buddhism than going to temple for sake of goodies or just blindly worshiping lord Buddha. In that case you might as worship the tooth-fairy

Buddhism is about freedom of will. For example a government cannot impose laws based on Buddhism because it can not only violate the will of non-Buddhists but also Buddhists themselves. Opinions vary among people. Buddhism cannot interfere in “Civil” society through laws or through forceful mechanisms. Off-course the country I am living in is a complete contradiction to this.

A person becomes a Buddhists according to his or her will. Its a personal decision. If one thinks lord Buddha is full of sh!t thats that persons’ “freedom of will”. There is no “apostasy” or “blasphemy” laws in Buddhism. For “layman” there are no enforced religious laws & punishments in Buddhism. Acceptance depends on ones own “Reasoning”.

Regarding enlightenment, it simply means “awakened”, awake to reality, gaining a greater understanding. One reason is because in Buddhism reality as we interpret is considered an illusion. But we cannot comprehend this. It is to gain that comprehension. A little, little, Bit like a “Virtual Reality” or uncertainty in “Quantum Mechanics”. Enlightenment is gaining knowledge and understanding, not gaining “Godhood”. Whether you consider the above bullsh!t or not is well, up to the reader, but “enlightenment” is NOT godhood or godliness or anything like that. Buddhism actually has a huge allergy to god(s).
