Buddhists (especially in my country) have converted Buddha/Buddhism into a traditional religion. Its much more convenient to go to temple, worship in hopes of merits (opposite of sins) and expect goodies. Much easier to worship lord Buddha in the belief something good or nice will happen. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work like that in Buddhism. It is your behavior that counts. Saving even an ants life out of genuine compassion is far superior in Buddhism than going to temple for sake of goodies or just blindly worshiping lord Buddha. In that case you might as worship the tooth-fairy

Buddhism is about freedom of will. For example a government cannot impose laws based on Buddhism because it can not only violate the will of non-Buddhists but also Buddhists themselves. Opinions vary among people. Buddhism cannot interfere in “Civil” society through laws or through forceful mechanisms. Off-course the country I am living in is a complete contradiction to this.

A person becomes a Buddhists according to his or her will. Its a personal decision. If one thinks lord Buddha is full of sh!t thats that persons’ “freedom of will”. There is no “apostasy” or “blasphemy” laws in Buddhism. For “layman” there are no enforced religious laws & punishments in Buddhism. Acceptance depends on ones own “Reasoning”.

Regarding enlightenment, it simply means “awakened”, awake to reality, gaining a greater understanding. One reason is because in Buddhism reality as we interpret is considered an illusion. But we cannot comprehend this. It is to gain that comprehension. A little, little, Bit like a “Virtual Reality” or uncertainty in “Quantum Mechanics”. Enlightenment is gaining knowledge and understanding, not gaining “Godhood”. Whether you consider the above bullsh!t or not is well, up to the reader, but “enlightenment” is NOT godhood or godliness or anything like that. Buddhism actually has a huge allergy to god(s).

Buddha was said to be a human who dies 2500+ years ago. I cannot confirm his existence. Don’t have a time machine :D. But he is no ever-lasting, all mighty, all powerful god, thats for sure (At least in Theravada Buddhism). Literature wise he is not a messenger of god(s), not a saviour, cannot forgive sins, cannot perform miracles such as healing the blind, the sick etc, etc. He was supposed to be born a human and died of food poisoning at the age 80. So absolutely no comparison to the all-mighty gods. 😀

China is still working overtime to develop a reliable fifth generation turbofan and now they have to see this. It must be very demoralizing for them.

This Stealthy, Hypersonic Drone Could Become The Most Exotic Plane Ever
Posted By Zach Rosenberg Friday, November 1, 2013 – 1:23 PM

Lockheed Martin revealed a planned successor to the legendary SR-71 Blackbird. Except this SR-72 will be a drone, will fly nearly twice as fast as the Blackbird and be capable of carrying weapons. And that will make it the most exotic airplane ever constructed.

Not really. PRC military (not the fanbois) know very well the US is at least a generation ahead in many fields. For example, just Look at the gap between the Seawolf/Ohio and the 093/094 submarines.

china do not care other countrys business so that report is a lie

    but i think they should.
philipine is really hostile to china. they even celebrate when chinese tourists got shot two year ago in malina

I know people are entitled to their opinions but topic is about a “supposed” protest by China about the a FA-50 sale to Philippines. The bolded part could stir things up a lot.

Note: Blitzo, I guess you should have made your original post clearer. All it contains is link and no description. Either everyone missed it or didn’t bother reading.

Nice stuff stimpy75. So P-1 can carry both ASM-1 & Harpoon at the same time! Interesting. Wonder whether it could carry the ASM-3?

Iraq might have oil but it’s hardly a country rich enough to have a Typhoon based airforce.

Either they get Chinese fighters (like the J10), second hand F16s with AMRAAM integrated, or Gripen E with Meteor.

    Typhoon would be too expensive.

Btw QuantumFX. Doesnt this look like A2G?

Thats an old fan art. Back then the artist was speculating on what the J-10B might look like.

Yep, as per recent chit-chat J-10 has not been cleared for export. J-10B hasn’t even entered service with PLAAF. Either way no comparison to the Typhoon. But the the Typhoon is one of the most expensive pieces of hardware.

So besides F-16, I can think of Gripen, MiG-35, KAI FA-50, improved JF-17.

    Maybe F/A-18E/F.
