J-8H production ended in 2002 but some J-8B/D are being converted to J-8H standard (J-8BH/DH)

J-8F is in production and some J-8D are being converted to J-8F standard (J-8DF)
J-8F actually carries the Type-1492 RADAR – Link-1

JC-8F (JZ-8F/J-8FR) is a recce versions replacing the old J-8R. Its in limited service with PLAAF & PLAN : Link-, Link-2, Link-3, Link-4, Link-5.

Regarding the WP-14 ‘Kunlun’, well appears this engine is a failure. J-7G/G2, J-8F/FR were all supposed to have been upgraded with WP-14 but has not happened. WP-14 has literally fallen off the RADAR.

I don’t doubt that Russia has capacity to create a true MiG-31 successor. But if we are to believe all we are told, Russia is developing —

PAK-FA is not powered by 117S. PAK-FA does not carry N035. The “brains” of the PAK-FA are not the same in the Su-35. Just because Sukhoi markets Su-35 as some sort of non-stealthy PAK-FA doesn’t mean that it is.

Nah I think they will be ok. Though if China did end up buying the Su-35, I’d put those guys on suicide watch.
