Aren’t the actual F-22 & F-35 RCS values still classified?
All I’ve heard are “Marble” & “Golf Ball”
Regarding the J-20, it is believed to be “less than” 0.05 m^2 frontal, but thats all.
PAF F-7 with various A/C including F-22 :

^^ Arnt those stuff more of paralay imagination then the real stuff
Those are indeed just art but isn’t the the T-50 supposed get flat nozzles similar to those NPO Saturn patents? (That about 10+ years after the initial batch)
are you suggesting that nozzles will be different in production version of Pak-fa?
have i missed something that big?
also, is final name confirmed to be Su-50?
thanks
More the the Block II will have different nozzles. First iteration to enter service will have rounded nozzles, but the next iteration might look like this – Image-1, Image-2, Video-1, Video-2

Oh my! That image of the T-50’s @$$ got me very excited
Didn’t they have a designs with S-Ducts? Image  But decided it was not worth it? Remember those widely separated engines allow it to carry large munitions like Kh-58UShKE and an R-37 variant. An S-Duct would have completely ruined that. Real designers have to make hard decision. It a compromise.
Are you able to open the image you linked again?
Attached them.
Check your data, this is an extremely simple arithmetical logic, which stands on my side.
Primarily, I used AIM-9X as criteria to both.
I did. I used values ranging from 2.9m (ASRAAM) to 3m (AIM-9X). Almost all value resulted in a length of around 22m or higher – Image.
Is that influenced by vertical fin so much or you didn’t take it as a synthesis.
Even right one below, theF-22’s side weapon bay on length is deathly larger than J-20, ask yourself is it possible?
All depends on what kind of missile it carries, how the ejection mechanism works, how compact storage is and so on.
Here is the F-22 side bay with AIM-9L/M – Image-1, Image-2.
We don’t know what missile is going to be carried by the J-20 side bays and how. PL-8B is 2.95m, PL-9C is 2.9m and both have large control surfaces. AIM-9L/M is 2.85m. If the J-20 is going to carry PL-8B in its side bay, then you are right, the plane will be large, unusually large for a fighter. But, until they start loading the the missiles, we will have to weight.
The 18.9 meters for F-22 is horizontal stabilizer included, on the other hand, enlarged vertical fin on J-20 will never/ever change anything apparently…
Exactly, F-22 length 18.9m is with the stabs not to the nozzle level. If you bring the F-22 nozzles to the level of the horizontal-stabs and if you move the vertical-stabs back and reduce size of it, the plane suddenly looks bigger without changing the overall length.
Just look at this image : The J-20 looks HUGE, much longer than the F-22 (Image-1, Image-2). But the F-22 nozzles don’t go right back to the level of the horizontal-stabs. J-20 nozzles do go right back. So how much longer is the J-20 compared to the F-22? 2m? 3m? 4m? I will have to wait until official values are released.
Edit :
Using the Su-27/30/35 & J-10 should be better at calculating the J-20 length. All those planes have AL-31 or a variant of them so we can use the nozzles diameter as the reference, plus we know the official length of these planes.
If you remember how long it took J-10 official specs/dimensions to be released, you are in for a very LOOONG wait. 2006, J-10 became official, 2009 came the 1st official values for length, width etc. :diablo: :dev2:
It seem a PLAAF general had given the value 20.3m during IIRC a CCTV interview, but whether he was just messing with or not is another matter. I constantly here the J-20 (without pitot) is at least 2m longer than the F-22 (21m-22m). So don’t hold your breath for any official stuff. They’ll keep us guessing for a long time. 😀
One thing, the F-22 is misleading because its engine nozzles are several meters in from the rear edge of the horizontal stabs. Little PhotoShoping and you can make F-22 look longer than it is without actually changing the overall length.
