Woah, not something you see every day. ICBM warhead re-entry.

That or something new and I do not believe the Chinese would ship a new fighter this way. It doesn’t make sense, especially if they would want to keep it under wraps. Now, if they did want the world to know, they’re on the right track.
I do not believe the PLAAF has an aircraft that can accomodate an ICBM, hence the truck (if that even is an ICBM). The alleged L-15 could probably fit inside of an Il-76. Why not do that?
It could just be a mockup, not a 1-to-1 but somewhat smaller. Could be a RCS test model or something like that. I really really doubt this is an actual flying prototype.

Damn! Can it make ‘Paper Dosai’ too?

PS: Despite all the naysayers, that rust bucket has transformed into that beauty. Now can’t wait until the MiG-29K starts to fly off.

Engine contracts with China, include-Early 2012, contract for 140 Al-31F
-2011, contract for 150 Al-31F
-Contract for 123 Al-31FN
-Fall 2011, contract for 184 D-30KP2.Past 2.5 years, engine contracts with China surpassed 4 billion dollars; Salut factory loaded till 2015. It is expected that China will increase Al-31F order, seeking more modern and powerful variants.
Article also says D-30 will be used on Y-20 (and Il-76 and H-6).
Possible. WS-118 (derived from WS-10) will be used even eventually but speculation is prototypes and maybe early batches will use D-30KP-2. D-30KP-2 is also needed for H-6K.
Russia doesn’t provide engines only for the J-11B and variants. Su-27/30, J-11/11A, Il-76, J-10, H-6K, JF-17 as well as J-20, Y-20 don’t have any issues. I suspect the more powerful AL-31F are for J-20 (maybe J-10B)

Its actually the ZDK-03 for the PAF. KJ-200 has balance-beam like the Erieye.

Thats one nice looking boat I must say…
Here is a profile shot showing many 90 degree radar reflectors. Notice all the untreated rivets and squared off panels. Don’t forget that the interior of the cockpit will reflect radar returns all over the place.

Is AL-31FM-1 even cleared for export?
Not sure its the AL-31FM1.
I read somewhere that the Export AL-31F and AL-31FN has been upgraded with both more thust and TBO life.Anyway, it could be more about the designation than the physical difference.
The exact designation is unclear. But it is rumored to be developed by Salut for the J-20 like the AL-31FN but has max thrust around 14000 kgf (so thats about 137 kN). Designation is anyone’s guess. flateric mentioned that CAC officials have visited Salut for engines (excluding J-10), and maya @ SDF clearly said its an AL-31 variant. Even Hui Tong initially stated the its a 14000 kgf engine from Salut, but he changed that to WS-1X.
