So much for no more Russian engines. Big deal, wow!

If this holds water, the WS-10 engine development is in deep ****..
I mean Russian *Saturn and Saylut Engine R&D must be a freaking lightyear ahead:confused:

CAC doesn’t have the same problem SAC has. SAC is facing sort of a sanction when it comes to Russian engines due to the J-11B IP issue. Almost all WS-10 engines go to the J-11B/BS/BH/BSH and J-15. So far we haven’t seen a single leak (not even blurry one one), showing a J-10 test plane flying with a WS-10.

J-10 from the very first plane has been flying with the AL-31FN and CAC, PLAAF seems to be happy with it. For the new J-11/15 no such luxuries, there is only one engine option – WS-10.

Wuh? J-16 is new design? http://www.cheesebuerger.de/images/smilie/konfus/a015.gif

There is a fair bit of confusion here. What I could comprehend after going through Hui Tong‘s site :

J-15S : A twin seat trainer version of the J-15
J-16 : Su-30MKK/JH-7A replacement. Something like best of both worlds
    J-17 : Silent Flanker
    J-18 : Follow-on design to the J-15 (based on SAC/601 J-XX proposal?)
J-19 : Initially SAC/601 losing proposal for the J-XX but now being refined (not sure the point of this program honestly)
J-20 : By CAC/611. Well, we all know what this is 😀
J-21/2X : Downgraded single-engine stealth fighter by for export, by CAC/611

So from what I could understand, J-18 & J-19 are new designs by SAC.

Time will tell. Pinko has got it right on numerous occasions.

what is the difference between Su-35S and J-11B?

Simply, there are way too many unknowns with the J-11B

J-10 length is said to be 16.43 meters. Revealed in 2009 during the 60th anniversary events.

Posted by Pinko : Link (From the Chinese Aviation Museum in IIRC Beijing?)

    Some others I found: Link-1, Link-2

This value is now quoted by wiki as well – Link

AGREED — that helicopter had tons of people, including myself fooled initially.

I think it was the chinese-russian joint venture Mi-46?

    Yup…. 😀

    Here : Link-1, Link-2

Off-course in the 20-ton heli image the 2 J-8 gave away the whole thing. Someone found the original without the heli. *BUSTED* This time no such points of reference. My 1st impression when I saw the alleged JH-7B/XX image was ‘a CG from the same ___hole but clearly improved his skills’.

    Well time will tell…..

Would be damn cool if was true though…

I hope this is not another CG done by the person who did that very realistic helicopter CG not too long ago (IIRC a new Z-8 variant).

J-10 beating the older Su-27SK is not surprising,

One thing, several years back there was a story about an experienced PLAAF Su-27 pilot in J-7E shot down a novice pilot in an Su-27.

    The first pic is unreal.

Both are unreal. Second one is a photoshop of an old CG (someone decided to add wingtip missile rails).
