Hmm I would differ , I think even after nearly 2 decades the YF-23 still retains the top position due it its stunning black looks and wow factor …….but hey thats just me
…
NO! Not just you…. YF-23 is still at the top for me too….. For me she has the biggest WOW factor from any angle…
In over all beauty and looks I feel the PAK-FA is better than F-22.
…
Definitely… From the front/back and sides the PAK-FA is certainly better looking than the F-22. From the top also it is better. Only angle that it doesn’t look very good is the bottom…..
…
Its really a pitty they choose YF-22 over YF-23 š
Absolutely…. š” I mean, it has been said that the YF-23 was faster, stealthier than the YF-22 and met all other ATF requirements … Besides the fact that the she was far better looking… Shocking…. š

Nice pics flateric! Since these are screencaps, is there a link to a video?
PS: Good to see the great “flateric” over here at AFM. You post some great stuff at secret-projects forum…
thanks
I think they should start giving reporting names to Iranian aircraft, they generally have names english speakers have difficulty saying or remembering.

Should be only 2 Syllables like in “Flanker = Flan + ker”, “Foxbat = Fox + bat” etc, etc
Just to avoid repeating ourselves, I have stated I don’t feel the underwing pods are meant to house missiles; of course I can’t prove but neither can those who support the idea. So that remains to be seen.

Well, thats fair enough. We will have to wait and see….

Your assumption of 4 R-33s however totally leaves out small range IR dogfighters. That would make it pretty well a return to Su-15/MiG-25 configurations…
4 is R-33/R-37 is the max load that type of missile in the main weapons bays (again assuming the dimensions are the same as the S-37 bay). That doesn’t mean she won’t be carry a mix of different weapons.
and to add to that, 4 in the main weapons-bays…
there are 2 more for carrying dogfight missiles. Plus there is the good old gun…
AFAIK the Foxhound could carry six R-37s.
Ahhhhhrrrrgggg…! True! The MiG-31M can carry 6x R-37. My mind was on the older MiG-31 carrying 4x R-33. Still 4 R-33/R-37 type missiles internally is impressive (assuming the T-50 bays are the same as the S-37 bay). T-50 is required to carry large A-to-G munitions internally (Kh-38, Kh-58 and IIRC KAB-1500, kh-31 etc). Would be interesting to the the arrangements..
The good thing about the S-37 bay is that it can possibly carry 2 R-33/37 size missiles (Paralay’s sketch).
For the sake of the argument lets say the the 2 bays of the T-50 have the same dimensions. That means the T-50 can carry internally the same number of R-33/37 size missiles The MiG-31 carries. Thats actually an very impressive load in terms of ultra-long engagement :diablo:.

Now, there is nothing to distinguish the airframes of MKI and MKK. They are distinguished by their internal equipment. Airframe-wise, there is near complete commonality.

I don’t know, those IR seekers might have to be rethought with the new laser-based blinders called TADIRCM, or “Agile Eye”. Very fitting name considering this topic.
are you referring to something like this? http://www.es.northropgrumman.com/solutions/nemesis/index.html

Is there any practical way to have IR suppression from behind especially when the afterburner is in full blow? Few years back someone at this forum said it was like trying to “hide the sun!”…

[CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTION]A way to get things working normally, I think, would be to appoint more Moderators.
That way, the existing Mods can also get their workload reduced and not get too stressed … [/CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTION]
I agree with that 1000%. Actually, I’ve suggested this sometime back (Under a different Member account though). When infraction system was introduced I suggested that they should increase the moderator list. But, ummmm…..guess what…. Didn’t happen.
The moderators we have are NOT full time people. They actually have other matters to attend to. To keep a level certain level of forum discipline, having more moderators would certainly help.
