Biggest E-jet – E195AR
maximum no-frills seating 122
range 2200 nm
Smallest CSeries – CS100
maximum no-frills seating 125
range 2200 nm
Differences?
CS100 is more plane than E195AR: MTOW CS100 54,9 t, E195AR 52,3 t.
What is the difference in empty weights, and how does fuel burn differ?
CS100 also takes off, at ISA sea level, in 1500 m – E195AR needs 2200 m.
E-jets go smaller than this (E195 down to 1400 nm of STD, E170 down to 80 seats at no frills and 36 t MTOW STD) CSeries bigger than this (CS100ER and CS300ER up to 2950 nm, CS300ER up to 145 seats no frills and 63,1 t MTOW).
Currently delayed into last quarter of 2013:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/mrj-maiden-flight-pushed-back-over-12-months-to-late-2013-371094/
Is CSeries on schedule for 2012 maiden flight?
Examining the numbers, D-18T series 5 is far bigger than Series 3.
For one thing, the fan diametre is 233 cm for series 3 – 305 cm for series 5. The exterenal envelope is not only wider and higher around the fan, but longer.
Supersonic business jet
Tsagi keeps working on it:

787 and An-148 are two different class of aircraft
Both are twinjets recently entered into service and with small world fleets due to trouble ramping up.
In other words, An-148 has not had 50 000 engine hours and obviously does not meet IFSD rate of under 0,02 per 1000 engine hours.
How about 787?
Yes, but A-380 is a quad, thus not subject to ETOPS (except in USA that has none of them). Australia (Qantas) does have LROPS – how about other A380 fleets?
A major threshold is quoted as 0,02 IFSD per 1000 engine flight hours. Rearranging, it gives 1 IFSD per 25 000 plane flight hours.
How many hours has world An-148 fleet flown?
How many hours has B787?
Landing on one engine is not really a concern , if any thing else this proves that An-148 has been successfully in landing on single engine in case of emergency which any twin engine is designed to do . This is kind of problem every civil aircraft could have faced in thousands of hours it has flown
Yes, but an in flight shutdown does contribute to in flight shutdown rate. And with small fleet and few hours flown worldwide, each event hurts.
What is the current IFSD rate of An-148 fleet?
For another twin with small world fleet – what is the current IFSD rate of Trent 1000?
Privatair order!
Privatair bought 5 firm frames, 5 options of CS100. All are all business:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/privatair-signs-for-up-to-10-cs100s-367155/
Is Privatair one of the several airlines that shall operate Cseries LCY-NY?
See:
http://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/bombardier-to-deliver-10-cseries-per-month-in-2016-366585/
It is impossible to buy a Cseries for 2014 or 2015: all 120 slots, and the probably few slots for 2013 are sold out. The first 48 unsold Cseries are in 2016. There are over 100 Cseries sold for 2017 and beyond.
For comparison, the first A320NEO delivery is October 2015. There are over 1000 A320NEO orders. When are the first unsold A320NEO slots?
CS100 shall have 5 test frames, maiden flight this year:

Ready for type inspection authorization:

How long shall type inspection authorization take?
How many “business” seats can fit in CS100?
A318 maximum no frills seating is 132, at 6 abreast meaning 22 rows. BA has 32 seats, 4 abreast, so 8 rows.
CS100 maximum no frills seating is 125, at 5 abreast meaning 25 rows.
E190 maximum no frills seating is 114, at 4 abreast meaning 28 and a half rows.
At all business, E190/Lineage 1000 should fit 10 rows of beds at 3 abreast, 30 total.
CS100 should fit 9 rows of beds. But Cseries cabin is 41 cm narrower than A320.
Can 36 4 abreast beds in Cseries fit for transatlantic, or does it have to be 27 at 3 abreast to qualify as business for you?
How much MTOW can CS100ER lift out of LCY? How much can Lineage 1000?
What is the range of CS100ER out of LCY with 36 beds, baggage and extra tanks as appropriate? And what is the range of Lineage 1000 out of LCY with 30 beds, baggage and extra tanks as appropriate?
Also remember what Odyssey means. 10 planeloads of rich businesspeople should get killed off piecemeal with a lone survivor held as sex slave for 7 years. So expect to hear of the fate of the passengers sometime in 2024 or 2025….
