Well said Rabie, I spend too much time here, I’m sure, when I should be working hahaha!! History, politics and economics, not my best subjects I have to say (especially history), all my A levels were sciences, biology my strongest and maths my worst, but all that’s history now.
Hope your mocks go well anyway, I had my exams in January, my next ones in May so I know exactly what you’re going through.:-)

Hi Rabie – the Keymags HTML bit is a good point for quick reference, thanks for suggesting it. Sorry I’ve taken a few days to reply. I will try and get started on the site next week, fit it in with the eight essays, powerpoint presentation and final year project I’ve got to get finished!!!

Thanks for your answers guys. I checked out Webmasters suggestion and it looks really helpful. I’m actually off for a tutorial now with the teacher who set the assessment, so I can tell him I’ve found some good sources if he asks.

    RE: Birthday

I’m sorry this info has taken so long, I’ve been checking through my Comet books.
XS235 was the last airworthy Comet (a 4C model). It ended its career at Boscombe Down in the 1990s, and took part in Heathrow’s 50th anniversary flypast in 1996. Apparently there have been plans to get it certified from the CAA for civil flying (although without passengers) and re-register it with a registration similar to the Comet 4 which flew the first trans-Atlantic turbojet passenger flight back in 1958. If this plan was successful, the Comet would be flown to Johannesburg on 2nd May 2002 to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

I live on the North Yorkshire coast, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The area is rural, and the nearest town of any size, though with crap shops, is Scarborough.

RE: BA announces further 5800 job cuts

I feel sorry for all the staff at BA who are to lose their jobs. As my Mum said yesterday, if they can afford to fly Concorde why can’t they afford to keep the staff???

    RE: Vanishing Ratings

Thanks for the info guys, I never knew about those comments, I just saw the other day I’d got more ratings, but when I looked they weren’t there. I know Geforce had quite a nasty one from PAV or someone.

I’ve posted some comments on there. They are:

    Icelandair Keflavik-Glasgow 1993

    RE: Birthday

I suppose the ultimate aviation “birthday” this year is that of the passenger jet. On 2nd May 2002, it will be 50 years to the day since the first passenger jet service, when the Comet G-ALYP flew from London to Johannesburg. I think that is something to celebrate, even if I am biased!!!

I saw that particular aircraft taking off in San Diego, I wish I’d have had my camera handy. I think Southwest have a Texas flag scheme as well.

Only one candidate for me, Air New Zealand (I really hope some of their staff read this).
My bad experience started before I even reached the airport. We phoned up to reconfirm our reservations. The inept reservations staff had cancelled our flights, so we had to race round trying to get back on the passenger list. We were due to stop in Fiji, but thanks to the incompetents we missed that stop because we could not get back on the Fiji flight, so we ended up with a non-stop flight to Hawaii. On the Hawaii flight, I had the misfortune to share my seat with around 300 cigarette ends, as the aircraft had not been cleaned prior to being put in service. The seat in front of me literally dropped to bits. The cabin staff were rude, and service, when they could be bothered to provide it, was shoddy. The only Air New Zealand staff I have any respect for are the pilots, they are at least decent and know how to speak to the passengers.

Very interesting!!! I would also have said Oostende, looked like a big cargo plane in there somewhere, and Oostende is known as a cargo airport. Also taken from a VLM Fokker 50? I am due to fly on one of those in September to Brussels, I hope I get a good view like that, usually when I fly over the Belgian coast (both with Sabena and also Finnair – they fly over Belgium on their way from Heathrow to Helsinki) it is usually cloudy. I would love to fly over Belgium in clear weather.
Also, I might be moving to Oostende, and I would love a job at that airport!!!
