RE: Transporting Animals
Thanks for your replies, very helpful. Well, at least I’ve fulfilled one condition already, the dog is microchipped, and I’ll see the vet about sedation, my dog is a little excitable, putting it mildly. At the moment, BA are my number one choice, I checked out with them and they are really informative and seem really good. I need to see the vet about rabies and stuff as well.
As for Jeremy, I met him last time I was at Heathrow!! I got a copy of his book as a Christmas present and I took it to Heathrow to see if I could see him and get it signed. We asked at Aeroflot’s desk, and then at information, who phoned to the Aeroflot office and asked if he would sign the book. He actually invited us (me and my Mum) up to the Aeroflot office where he spoke to us and my Mum took his photo. He signed the book and we also met the Aeroflot engineer Igor. It was really a super experience, and he came across as a really nice guy. I was disappointed when I heard he no longer worked for Aeroflot (I think he single-handedly improved their passenger numbers between LHR and Russia). I wonder what he does now because he is never on TV anymore.:-)
RE: Airport pic of the day-22/01/02
A beautiful, if rather sad picture. Glad to see the RJs are flying again, but it’s a pity the rest of the fleet is no longer with us (unless Sobelair took some of the 737s, I don’t know).
Fly with proper Belgian airlines.
RE: Kabir – Whats ur fav airline?
Geforce – didn’t you say a little while ago that you enjoyed SWISSAIR’s inflight catering?????!!!!!
Fly with proper Belgian airlines.
I am officially now flying with VLM in September LCY-BRU.
RE: Pic Of The Day-17/01/02!!
Beautiful photo Kabir, no comment on the airline though.
Fly with proper Belgian airlines.:-)
RE: Dan-Air Comet 4’s at BHX
Great, another Comet fan. It is very hard to find pictures of Comets at BHX, most show them at Gatwick. If someone has a picture at BHX, I would be very interested to see it as well. Please, post a Comet!!!
RE: Kabir – Whats ur fav airline?
Not addressed to me, but I’ll give you an answer.
My absolute all time favourite airline went bust in November (Sabena).
I also enjoyed flying with Air France, Finnair, Cyprus Airways, Iberia, British Airways (I was only five but it was my first Jumbo flight) and Icelandair have friendly cabin crews but some (well, one) of their aircraft scare the hell out of me. The only aircraft I have ever been afraid to board was one of theirs which had a tendency towards engine failure, and sure enough last time I flew on it…Just as the thing was about to begin its take off run it had to abort with the damned engine playing up.
RE: Worst UK Airport
My Grandparents used to fly from Luton with Britannia and they didn’t like the airport either. I don’t like the look of it when I see it on TV.
RE: Worst UK Airport
Glasgow USED to be okay, until they put frosted glass the entire length of the terminal to prevent anyone watching the aircraft.
RE: Pic Of The Day-16/01/02!!
A very classy, “stand out” livery, and a great landing pic!!
RE: Are these pictures good or a first attempt?
Your Fokker photos are great Saab 2000, I really like that particular British Midland livery, so I have to say that they’re my favourite pics:-)
RE: Can of worms
The AN-225 is my favourite cargo aircraft. Pity they didn’t build more.
RE: Belgian Pic Wanted!
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 14-01-02 AT 08:35Â AM (GMT)]Thanks alot Kabir, I am really grateful. I will get it posted onto my club for everyone to see (and hear about). It’s a great photo, better than the one I took in Brussels as it was parked and being fuelled and loaded.
Spoons Geforce??!! That’s a new one on me. Next time I buy some cutlery I’ll just have to hope that some poor Jumbo or TriStar didn’t go into the making of it, hahaha!!! 🙂
RE: A new forum for non aviation related topics???
I am in complete agreement – a “new” forum would be great, I love posting on the two I do post on, these are certainly the friendliest forums I ever go on and as you say Saab 2000, some of us have things in common besides aviation, I sometimes feel a bit guilty about my occasional “non aviation” posts, but a new forum would prevent that! Yes, please set one up:-)
RE: The National UK Airport Awards
For sheer variety I have to say Heathrow, my favourite airport overall. Manchester is excellent for video and photography from the departure lounge, but the spectator’s area on the car park is poor for video, as you have to point the lens through the wire and keep adjusting focus, which is tedious when you’re tracking a particular aircraft. Manchester also has an excellent restaurant in T1, the Lancaster Brasserie, which offers a good view of the apron area and to some extent landings and departures and the food is good. That is its only advantage over Heathrow.
Fly with proper Belgian airlines.
RE: Pic Of The Day-09/01/02!!
Wonderful,simply wonderful!!!!!
Fly with proper Belgian airlines.:-)
