I would like to see York when the Vikings were there, to see how it was compared to how Jorvik portray it.

Also I would like to go back to prehistoric times to see how dinosaurs and other long-extinct animals really looked and behaved, and to see how different the planet was then.

I saw the Northern Lights on a holiday in Iceland in November 1991.

Comet – I read “New York” earlier this year, and really enjoyed it. I have read all of Rutherfurd’s books, and thought that he had lost his way a bit with with his Irish books, but New York sees him back on form.

This is the first of Rutherford’s books that I’ve read, and I’m impressed. I like a book I can get into which has interesting characters. I like the fact that the fictional characters are mingled with real historical figures, it has inspired me to read more about New York’s history to find out more about some of the characters. I think I will definitely read more by him, I like the look of “London” as well.

A primary school worker has been charged. What sort of example does this set to the children it is responsible for teaching?

What is making me want to swear at this moment is waiting for the result of a job interview I had this morning. Been waiting for the phone to ring for ages as they said they would call me back and it is starting to drive me mad! I don’t think I’ll have got the job but I just wish they’d let me know!!!

I cannot abide the TGV, I have travelled on it twice and found it cramped and hugely over rated. I also lost my Christmas holiday in December 2009 when the useless TGV-derivative known as Euro”star” broke down when it was snowing. Absolute rubbish, I should hate to see those things running over here. And alot of countryside is going to be destroyed for this expensive white elephant.

Toured the Highland Park distillery while visiting family in Orkney – in the malting rooms the germinating barley was spread across the floor in a nice even covering. There was a set of foot prints made by one of the distillery cats going out into the middle of what I can only assume it thought was one really big cat litter tray….

    All adds to the flavour!!!:D

I have read that alot of breweries have cats too, probably something started to keep mice down in stores.

Anyone who likes whisky and other spirits might also enjoy jenever from Belgium – that is very good 😀
