Bad, bad, bad news. That is the worst thing that could happen to VLM. They are a very good carrier with reasonable prices and a decent inflight product, better than many other full service airlines I’ve been on recently. They make profits practically every year, so they must be damned well-run as it is. They don’t need taking over by the French.

In my own experience, as soon as something is taken over by the French, the standards go out the window. My internet provider was taken over by the French, and the service is rubbish. One of my favourite restaurants was taken over by the French, and the standards dropped markedly.

VLM is a better carrier than Air France could ever hope to be, and I hope it stays that way.

    1. What, if anything, will you will remember Tony Blair for?

The war in Iraq and wrecking the NHS – people being told they must go blind because the drugs they need are too expensive. Where I live people can’t get to see a dentist, that is the fault of Blair.

    2. a) Do you approve of Gordon Browns succession to No. 10?

No, I don’t approve of the Labour Party at all. Brown will be just as bad as Blair.

    b) Do you think the Labour party should be in control now?

    No I do not.

    3. Bearing in mind their success at the recent local elections, do you think the Conservative party has any chance of winning the next general election?

The Conservatives are no different to Labour. David “hug a hoodie and love a lout” Cameron would be just as bad for this country as Blair was. He is a red Tory (ie a Labour in Tory colours).

As a member of a different political party, I have no wish to see either Labour or the Tories in power. (And I am not a Green either!)

I’m very interested in the paranormal but i can say that i’m also totally sane.

Hello Jayne. I’m also interested in the paranormal, I used to live in a haunted house (yes really!) We had all sorts of things going off sometimes 😀

I answered the survey even though I don’t live in Manchester. MAN is the only decent airport within easy reach of where I live so it’s the one I use most often.

You be on a Fokker 50;) you flying from LCY?

    James

Yes, I’m going from LCY (love that airport!)

The plane looks very smart. When I first loaded this topic, the picture didn’t load, and even when I kept re-trying it wouldn’t load up. Nice to see it at last.

    The picture’s not there:(

I was looking forward to seeing this plane, we’re flying on VLM in September but that’s to BRU and I think this one is for the Rotterdam service. Would be nice if they switched it to the BRU run sometimes.

    Great Shots there fabke,
Nice selection , and if thats what you get there on a Sunday, Im looking forward to seeing shots from the during the week

Looks like a great place for a short Break 🙂
    Kevin

It’s the best place for a short break! Runway 25L is a good spotting place too – I’ve shot loads of video there and it’s easy to get to from the train (get off at Kortenberg). I’ve spotted on Friday and Sunday – both days are great.

For me, Brussels is the best airport in Europe. Nothing comes close, and I can’t wait to see it again in September.

Beautiful photos – love the RJ85. It’s nice to see that some still (at the moment) have that magnificent Sabena “S” rather than the awful Spotty Tail of the newly-formed airline.

The Spotty Tails look truly tacky:(

    Have I missed something?

I haven’t heard Blair say that the Falklands is being abandoned to Argentinian control?

And why this constant harping with dissatisfaction at the Government? We have an elected Government, I believe you are of age to exercise your vote. Or would you prefer that we become a right wing dictatorship just to satisfy you? If you’re not happy please don’t bleat and whine about it. You could stand for Parliament as an Independent Candidate. Why not give it a go? With your political views you would be guaranteed a strong element of support from every ultra right wing crank in your prospective constituency.

    Regards,

    kev35

Beckett is bending over backwards to accommodate the Argentinians, much to the disgust of Falklands veterans, that is not right-wing propaganda, that is what was reported in just about every UK daily newspaper earlier this week.

As far as exercising my vote goes, I was one of the many who did not vote this shower of a government in for another term.

And as for standing as a candidate, that is exactly what I am doing on 3rd May, albeit in a local election. I am not an Independent, I am proudly wearing the colours of my Party, which openly opposes British troops being deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and believes in keeping the Falklands British.

And please do not call us cranks, how many of us do you know personally, rather than what the media says about us?
