The last full day of the holiday was spent in Brugge.

‘t Zand and the fountain lit up in the evening. We used to go and sit here when we had finished our drinks. We discovered a nice new bar with a stunning beer range.

Simon Stevin Plein. This city is one of the most beautiful I have visited.
And after all that hot weather and travelling, it was nice to go into Cambrinus and have some great beer.

Jan van Gent – my Mum’s beer on our last night.

The Belgian amber nectar – heaven in a glass!

The monkey is the mascot of Mons.

Mons belfry from the gardens.
On 11th September we went to Zeebrugge. The train was one of those old red stoptreins and to hear it you would have thought it was a steam train! It was hot in Zeebrugge, and I was glad to get into a bar (Old Steamer) and have a big glass of Hoegaarden. Zeebrugge was also hazy and there was alot of dust but we liked the place and will go back to have a boat trip. I had hoped to see a ferry leaving or arriving but we were too early.

On 12th September we went to Lier.

An Irish pub near the Italian restaurant where we had our dinner.

Lier.

I think this boat is a restaurant.

On Sunday 10th we went to Mons. Hot and sunny again, we endured a potential nightmare of a restaurant before having a look round the city.

This is Eupen. The only day we had bad weather was the day when we made the longest journey by train. The ride is very nice, especially when you get beyond Liege going to Eupen. But the mist and rain spoilt this. I loved Eupen, it is a very pretty place and we will go again.

Our first full day trip was Antwerp on 6th September. We had been to Knokke the afternoon on the 5th but I didn’t take any photos. It was hot and sunny in Antwerp.

The first time I have been able to get photos of the Markt in Antwerp.

A horse and cart in Antwerp.

We went to Aquatopia, flash photography is not permitted in there. Another time when I wish I could have taken my video camera.

A discus in Aquatopia.

A piranha.

Aquatopia also has reptiles.

I was in MAN on 23rd in the T1 cafe area. I took a few photos but the weather was gross. It was great to see that TriStar though. Sight of the day in my opinion.
Is the tower of that church really at that angle, or was the Sloeber kicking in? 🙂
Bruges looks a nice place.
😮 It was taken through the window:o But the strongest beer we had was the Stille Nacht – 12%ABV and very nice. We would have tried the ice skating if it hadn’t been for the beer being so strong:D
Brugge/Bruges is a beautiful place and sightseeing is good fun because you can have horse and carriage tours and boat tours along the canals. There are some tacky tourist shops but some really nice quality shops as well, especially if you like chocolate:diablo:
It’s a place you never tire of visiting – each time we go we find a new favourite restaurant and you can get to everywhere (almost) by train so we have visited loads of places through Belgium. It’s not far from the sea either.

I mean, We had similar girls in the army and those tend to enjoy of all sort of other menly things…like other girls, for instance;) 😉
…offcourse not all, but…
That’s rubbish, not all girls who like aviation are dykes.
Not only rubbish, it is offensive.
