    I think any 9/11 photo makes me stop and think. I feel a variety of emotins enter me, anger, sadness and wonder at why people would do such a thing and kill so many innocent people. R.I.P all victims of the 9/11 attacks on America

    My thoughts exactly. Also the same for the number 30 bus of 7/7 and those mangled Tube trains. And the nose section of the Pan Am Jumbo in Lockerbie.

    Great stuff Fabke, I can’t wait to see BRU again (only 28 days to go 😀 😀 :D)

    I flew on OO-DJO last year (BHX-BRU SN2040 5th September) but then it had a proper livery. I don’t like those specials at all. They might be OK just to photograph but I hope we don’t get lumbered with one in September.

    Great shots! Intersesting sight, a foreign airliner named after a British city!!

    VLM have several planes named after British cities. When they start up a new route, they re-name a plane after the new city. There is City of Liverpool, City of Manchester, City of London and there was City of Southampton when they flew there.

    They swap the names round all the time.

    Great views – we have our first flight from T4 on Christmas Eve when we jet off to Brussels. That will be the first time we flown from LHR since 1998.

    Anyone else experiencing weather related transmission probs? ALL terestral channels went dead for most of yesterday and this morning. 😡

    Now back on. I think the heat is to blame….

    Depending where you are, there is work on a TV transmitter at Emley Moor, Yorkshire which is causing the loss of all the channels. It has been happening in Scarborough for several days now.

    flying over geordie land nothing beats it!!!

    Last time I flew to and from Geordieland it was thick cloud and rain – on both flights.

    Sydney – when we took off from there to fly to Auckland we did a steep turn and the view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge was simply stunning.

    I am all in favour of high levels of security like this. Maybe if Muslims stopped to think that the Madrid bombing, the Bali bombing, 9/11 and 7/7 were all carried out in the name of their religion, that many regard such terrorists as heroes and martyrs and many think suicide bombing is justified, then they can hardly be surprised that ordinary people are just a little bit suspicious when they see them boarding aircraft.

    Anyway, if they are innocent then what have they to worry about with security checks?

    Also I once had a thoroughly awful day at BHX. It was in November and it never really got light so I ended up taking photos using the night mode of my camera. I think that was singularly the worst spotting day for me because, unlike the ones at NCL, there was nothing good about these photos. Usually my biggest problems at BHX have been fog or heat haze but this November day topped the lot.
