We just found out today that the wife of my Mum’s ex-boss died yesterday. She had been in hospital for ages and my Mum had been wondering how she was doing, as she knew her and worked with her in the shop. When we got the local newspaper today her name was in the deaths column 🙁

Thanks – the depatrure lounge certainly looks like my kind of place, will get good photos and video from in there.

If Greggs is the best there is inside the terminal then we’ll eat in Newcastle, it’s gross that more airports don’t have better eating places apart from in the departure lounge.

Alot of info for spotting places seem to put an emphasis on driving there. We don’t have a car and we don’t drive. Pity NCL doesn’t have something like the Aviation Experience at BHX. I think all airports should have something like that 😀

And I can’t wait to bag my first ever Easyjet 😀

I don’t know about aircraft I have seen which have had several owners, but I have seen some aircraft more than others on the occasions when I get chance to spot. I am not sure off hand of the regs, but regular MAN spotters will know ones I mean.

Each time I’ve been at MAN in the past few years the Tartan Tail Dash 8 has turned up, without fail. Same goes for the Rose Dash 8.

Each time I’ve flown anywhere this year, little G-EMBK has been around, either next to our plane when we boarded, or taxying for departure as we arrived, or parked at the terminal as I spotted or starring in my holiday video in BHX in September. I will miss that little plane when it gets a boring tail 😀 I first saw that one on 30th March 2004, on my first ever spot at BHX the day before my first ever SNBA flight.

Of the SNBA fleet, I have lost count of the number of times I have seen OO-SSK, never any of their other A319s, just that one.

Nice ones! Shame to see more and more BA ERJs with the flag tail though, one of their nicest has gone from a world tail to a boring flag (G-EMBG I think it was). It used to be nice to know which was which just by looking at the tail colours on those smaller planes.

    Beautiful 😀

That Visit Wales is a nice plane as well, it was in MAN the other week but not in an easy position for me to get a photo. It always seems to be a bit distant when I see it. It certainly looks like you had a good day at BHX yesterday!

Great photos (don’t apologise for the quality!)

You are lucky to bag Asterix, I looked all over for that one in BRU the other week and didn’t see it 🙁

I hope I get to bag it at NCL in March.

Great stuff! The wingletted 757 and Flybe 737 were high on my wanted list when I was at BHX in September, but no such luck 🙁 I will miss BHX in 2006, and instead will be sampling the delights of NCL 😀

We should remember Steve Young and Captainben, both contributors to the forums who died this year.

I personally don’t know anyone who has died, but we should spare a thought for all those families whose loved ones were murdered on 7th July in London, and indeed anyone who has lost a loved one this year.

Edward Heath – that anti-British traitor who dragged this country into the worst thing invented – the EU.

Tony Blair for being pro-EU, a warmonger who has caused the needless deaths of many British troops.

Britain, seeing as alot of our industry has been destroyed by the bloody EU. British ships are superior, but under EU rules the contracts have to go to the cheapest quote, so we get inferior workmanship from France or Germany whilst our own shipyards are left to rot. The QE2 was a mess after it was “maintained” at a German yard. Ships built in France for P&O have been a laughing stock because they are, quite frankly, crap. Britain used to lead the world with innovation in aviation, but now we just makes wings for something assembled in bloody France. Our steel industry in Sheffield has been decimated in favour of cheap EU imports. Cheap coal, and the foreign-crawling traitorous governments killed off the mining industry and decimated communities in the process.
