We went into Beertje every night except Wednesday last year, and had some great beers, including some new ones for us. On the Wednesdays we ended up in De Zandloper which is run by cheats and con artists and I can only advise people not to go in here. I had my first drink in Beertje on 11th September 2001 when I had a Sloeber. We go to Belgium every year and spend 10 days there on our main holiday (apart from the short visits for “booze flights” in March and November). We like to try unusual beers which we can’t get at home because then we can choose ones to buy when we do our Christmas and spring beer shopping in Brussels. The only problem with Beertje is that it’s too small. I won’t go in a bar if I have to stand up or share a table because I like to savour my beer and can take 90 minutes to fully enjoy a Sloeber.

Thanks Ben. I avoid the moules anyway, can’t stand the smell of them. One bar we went into last year served us the beers wrongly but we knew our beers and they had to bring us some more and not charge us for the extra ones.

The last hedgehog I saw was dead on the pavement. It looked like someone had broken its back as it was dipped down alot in the middle. We used to have one visiting our old lawn, put out some catfood to encourage it to come back, that’s what we used to do. They’re very good in a garden because they eat alot of the pests.

He was obviously prepared to stand by his beliefs, which you don’t often see in politicians. And unlike some he used public transport, we once saw him at Leeds railway station.

My most recent one was yesterday afternoon, a Ryanair MAN-DUB with Jaguar. I took some screens but I can’t upload them because I keep getting an error message 😡 Before that I did some fun flights with my new Mustang and also my Stearman. And then I did a Brussels to Barcelona for SNBA.

I’ll be spending the weekend keeping my fingers crossed that my Labrador dog is going to be OK. He spent last night at the vet’s after he collapsed and had what looked like an epileptic fit, this morning the vet phoned to say that he had a heart murmur and we’ve got to take him for a check up again on Monday.

But on a lighter note I’ve got a new (for me) Belgian beer to try tomorrow night 😀

If you’d asked this in a couple of weeks I would have said I was going to my cousin’s wedding (though I can think of more fun things to do, spotting for example!)

All grave desecration is a vile act. I hope the perpetrators are caught and punished severely for this. I remember hearing how upset my Grandfather was when he went to visit a family grave only to find it had been smashed up. It really makes me mad 😡

I recently aquired a Stearman, which is good fun to fly. A devil to see where you’re going as you taxi, but great fun nevertheless 😀 I wanted a nice Mustang, but one I found after reading an article in PC Pilot was FS2004 only, so it was no good for me 🙁
